sucks these hip hop pods trying to be all professional now....at least juan epstein keeping the real meaning alive

I think the "F**k the roof" episode of TBI is a good one to get a sense of why some folks don't think Schulz is racist. I went back an peeped a few past episodes where race was the topic of discussion to see if I was just overlooking something. That episode, the episode with Killer Mike, and of course the episode with Combat Jack were all pretty good imo. I can appreciate a white person speaking from a precarious place when they're open to trying to understand and trying to move beyond a place of ignorance way more than a closed minded/closeted individual.

Yeah that's why I messed with them for the longest because they tried to keep it as a comedy hip hop podcast while still getting great interviews, it wasn't just a serious question and answer session. But lately even they've been getting a little dry with the interviews. It also depends on the guest tho so I guess I can't completely blame them. But the ****ery on Budden's pod + desus and mero etc. is making the matter of fact history lesson kinda podcasts they've been doing lately look kinda weak in comparison.

I don't feel he came off that way at all. I feel he came off from a place a ignorance, and the typical place of how they know everything and don't need a better understanding. Also he seemed to find amusement in situations that weren't that funny to me. They dictate race discussions and know more about being black than we do. When we discuss race we're whining, when they do, it's telling it like it is.

The only episode I can recall getting a similar vibe from them was the one where combat jack was featured. Did you peep the "f**k the roof" joint?

If anything, I will say this about Schulz. He's the type of white guy who "stop attributing everything to white privelege/we're all not racist" until something tragic occurs where he can't deny racism played a part. It definitely creates room for the argument of hypocrisy to be made against him.

There were numerous ones when I listened, because it was like back to back of Eric Garner, Ferguson...

After about two or three weeks I was done with both of them.

You know what that might have been what did it for me too. There was so much going on when the show came out even if he was only playing devils advocate it just wasn't funny or done well. I get and can appreciate not agreeing with Charlemagne sometimes but Andrew can kiss my entire ***.

I don't know if any of you listen to The Read but the cohost Crissle can't stand him either. I think he's grown on her cuz they're on the same network and do appear on Charlemagne's MTV2 show together but she's not here for his **** either. I think she wanted to go in on him for awhile but hasn't because of heir business relationship.

I can see what you all are saying. I started listening back in September, so it wasn't the same atmosphere when I began the pod. I can definitely see how his rhetoric would've rubbed people the wrong way during the height of those situations. I can't eem find fault with what you all for looking at him the way you do. I get it now.

I never peeped the read, but since those two came on tbi, I always wondered how his rift with Crissle started.

Explain this rift
What u mean she be side eyeing him or cussin him out???
How y'all know she don't like him

Read somewhere that she said "first off **** Andrew Schulz" at one of their live shows. :lol

I think ctg purposely pisses ol girl off

they've been on the pod too and prolly vice versa

thought they were cool

I don't listen to the read tho

She did. Someone went to a live show and mentioned it in the thread on LSA but I'd have to go to far back to find it. Crowd went crazy when she did lol

From what I can see she gets along fine with Charlemagne. He gave her one of the bottle Drake sent him after he dropped Back to Back. They disagree on things by she doesn't dislike him. I believe she honestly dislikes Andrew but tolerates him cuz he's around.

She's mentioned on their show and on BI that she dislikes Andrew. Can't remember specifics but it's not far off of what's been said in here. Who is he to say white privilege doesn't exist.

I thought it was on BI but check Another Round podcast from Buzzfeed that Crissle was a guest on. She might have mentioned it on there why she doesn't really like him.

It was like back to back to back to back, because that what was in the news. So every show became mostly about race and talking about black people. It wasn't why people were upset, rioting or disenfranchised. It wasn't why there's so much violence, because that's not what Chatty does.

And the standard, I don't see why ya'll are so concerned about cops when you have blah blah getting murdered in Chicago. It's hard being a cop, you have to understand what they go through blah blah.

When you start siding with the people who are trained and who are supposed to protect, rather than the kids and families being killed who weren't threats I can't mess with you. At least in those instances blame the cops. Shooting Tamir Rice isn't like putting mayonnaise instead of mustard on a sandwich

Crissle and Fury were on the We Are Not Here For This episode of BI. I'm sure she aired her grievances with Andrew then.

for some reason I originally read what you said as she didn't like ctg

yeah, thinking back I think she said she didn't like Schultz on the first bi ep they were on

I actually listen to the read regularly. Crissle has said several time she doesn't like Andrew.

He trolls her by saying she is secretly in love with him.

Crissle supposed to be playing for a different team this year, she need to Holla at me.

I find her outspoken attitude attractive.

I was wondering what her preference was, I assumed lez but didn't know for sure. This past year I've notice she lost some weight and her attitude like you said is intriguing. Not to mention those tig ol bitties

so now she is straight? lol I listened to the Read a few times and it wasn't for me.

Another quality Juan Ep, that Buckwild episode was flames I'm just sad they didnt go in depth discussing most of the B-side stuff he produced.

Is it just me or has Bodega Boy's lost their touch.

Yo I caught legit tears when they first did the impression and dubbed it the Ben Barson. :rollin

That Italian NYer impersonation they do is A1 too. I can only take these dudes in doses, past few episodes have been pretty meh though.

Their whole impersonation game is quite amazing considering it seems like they do it on the fly.

They did the Jewish Bergen County Doctor the other day....The Italian NYPD cop is by far my favorite though :lol.

Dude when they started one episode doing the NY firefighter, no lie, I almost got into an accident laughing so hard in the car.

Lol well my preference is definitely women.... :smokin

Crissle is definitely a lesbian but she been joking around about catching that meat lately. I'm tempted to slide in the DMs and shoot my shot. I love me some Tig ol Bitties.
