Only on NT will people talk about Lebron's declining athleticism AFTER he's scored 41 and went into GOD Mode down the stretch :lol :lol

Then we got people saying MJ's athleticism wasn't in decline in 97 :lol :{

Going into God Mode, dropping 40+ =/= being athletic. He's finding other ways to score which has zero to do with losing a step athletically. It's not like he's some slouch athlete either, he's just not the LeBron we're used to.

I'd peg his athleticism now as just a bit below Julius Randle's

And that's my point. It's negligent to even talk about Lebron's "declining athleticism" when he's still hanging 40 on cats, still going into God mode, still more athletic than 90% of the league, I mean...what's the point? He'll probably end up at his 5th straight final in as many years and do it on 26 7 & 6 on 52%.

I do agree though, Julius is in that 10% that is more athletic than Lebron.

Gotcha, like they nitpicking. It's true we love to nitpick. It's more so sad to me when guys start to lose a step, regardless of how well they still perform.

Bron still has a slightly better skill set than Julius Randle (I'd give Bron the slight edge in passing/ball handling), so that compensates for the slight loss of athleticism

Was Reggie Miller ever as great of an athlete as LeBron?

How many times had Reggie put up big numbers at thirty, and what did that have to do with his athleticism . . . or was it skill?

As great as an athlete that Jordan was, during his career as a Bull, was he ever considered a below the rim athlete, as LeBron was described by Greg Anthony on NBA TV last night?

I ask these questions not as a troll by the way, I ask in light of discussion. My comments are respectful to everyone, no dissing, no trying to son. The source of LeBron's issues are purely speculative, subjective, and since he had such a rough time of it last year in the other kicks, there is precedent that suggests that it may be shoe issues. We are talking a supremely conditioned athlete, who in early season mode has lost his explosiveness.

In fact, it hasn't been seen since the PREseason.

I say this because it is far more likely to be something like that, shoes, outside of the suggestion of drugs, or simply old age, which a huge insult to athletes over thirty who are thriving these days due to better training methods, as what seems to be the popular discussion is around these parts.

You sound like you are a Jordan fan so its surprising that you don't remember the criticism he was taking from 96'-98' for being a below the rim athlete. Like Lebron now, he had his moments but he was mostly under the rim. Hell, in 96' coaches such as George Karl and a few others criticized him for relegated himself to Jumpshots

My point is, as long as the production is there it doesnt' matter how they go about getting it. But to sit here and say Jordan was still flying through the air in 96, 97, and 98 is flat out silly.

Damn, Julius Randle is a better athlete than Lebron James now?

And he's more skilled than David Lee? And Lebron is only slightly more skilled than him?

Anything else I should know about King Julius?

Silly?

There is a big difference with being economical energetically, and then not being able to do it all.

Smarter players do know how to conserve a bit better, through taking jumpers, over taking so much contact. Against the Pistons, and Pat Riley's Knicks, Jordan realized that instead of taking all of the punishment, he became a more efficient shooter from the perimeter.

I can't find the pic, but he put big Pat on a poster in this game proving the athleticism was still there.

Jordan dunks on a player once a yr during his 2nd 3 peat = hes showing his athleticism is still there

Lebron is being conservative with the dunking = he lost a step

Makes sense
