weight: 156 lb

They're cool, a little pricey but they have everything you could ever want and have locations everywhere
i know it can very by location but are they large enough where during peak hours you dont have to wait forever for weights? I know the facilities are huge but I hear its a ton of running equipments and such
The one I used to go to on the reg was in Long Beach. It was usually pretty packed, but I was able to move thru my workouts. The weights area is pretty complete, but ya they have tons of cardio stuff

I go around 8:30/9 pm...Its not too crowded there...All the "Rush Hour" folks are usually leaving by then..I dont have to wait for the weights.

Hey ..New to NT, Does any have any tips for women and working out? I'm 5'8 165 pounds. I go to the gym twice a week..really should go more often. I don't want to lose weight just tone up and get more muscle. Should I be doing cardio/treadmill?

You should post pics so we can diagnose. But seriously http://www.womenshealthmag.com/fitness/best-workout-for-your-body-type I'm not sure what my sister did but she lost like a ton of weight now and people think she is her daughter's sister now she looks so young, I think she did one of Jill Michael's programs

My biggest problem is motivation

QFT. This is what motivates me everyday when I wake up in the morning.

Any advice for improving my time on a two mile run?

I'm averaging 15.45... Want to get it down to 14.00.

I tried doing the 60 second sprint 120 second walk, but that threw me off terribly. Took me like 18 minutes, so it's safe to say sprinting is out.

There are two uphill stretches about 100 yards each on my route if that matters.

Does anyone have tips on gaining strength when you're weak?

I used to lift in my early twenties and was cut but never swole. I never lifted for power, but banged out reps of 10-12 with weight I could manage.
Fast forward to today and I've totally neglected physical fitness while I've been finishing up my degree. I'm all done with school now, but have just taken a real, hard look at myself and saw that I've definitely let myself go. I'm 6'2" and probably close to 235-240 right now. I usually hover between 204-212.
I've tried to bang out chest and back p90x and definitely can't do it like I used to. Tried to run three miles without stopping and barely got a mile in before needing to take it easy. I can't believe I'm at this point, but at least I caught myself.

So yeah, any tips on gaining strength? I'm less concerned with losing weight right now. I'd like to just get strong so I can go hard with my workouts and not give up halfway through.

Personally I always go heavy aslong as I can maintain solid form and hit my rep range(6-12). Once form starts breaking down your going too heavy and once im hitting the top end of my rep range with ease and/or surpassing it its time to go up.

Thanks. That is what i did today and i can already tell that tomorrow my pecs are going to be killing me

Signed up for the new LA Fitness that opened near me. Been outof the gym for 2 months cause of school/tattoo healing processes/laziness. Feels good to be back again, but jeez, a nagging shoulder injury is back, and only when I bench. It doesnt hurt at all when I do shoulder workouts, but if I  bench forget it. Its my left shoulder right at the top of the joint, hurts that I just drop chest and go straight to tricep to salvage my workout.

Should I stretch more or do flys and other machine workouts before I do the heavy stuff?

the last couple weeks every time i try doing one arm dumbbell rows i get this piercing, pinching pain in my forearm. it's only in my right arm and it hurts so i stop immediately. i thought it might be because im using too much weight but i tried with just 25's and the same thing happens. this has never happened to me before. anyone know what could be going on?

I had this problem a while back so I stopped doing curls or any workout that required putting so much stress in my forearm. I did it for about a month and now the pain is gone. You need to let that forearm rest bro.

i messed up my shoulder playing baseball back in the day. Took forever for it to heal and lifting heavy took a big hit. Just have to let it take its course, Do what you can but when you start to feel it hurting, i would stop there and lower the weight.

You want to let it heal, not keep slowing making it worse.

EDIT: look up some exercises/rehab movements for rotator cuffs. Could be the problem .

Yes that and a sprain. Sucks dude

How exactly does it feel?

I had some x-rays and an MRI done and they both came out negative. I'll get a tingling feeling in my tricep area when lifting sometimes, a pulling in my elbow area when it's folded, and occasionally feel the tendon or something moving around when in certain positions . Not sure if that is what tendonitis feels like.

Ive been doing exercises for my rotator cuffs before every shoulder/chest workout. But yeah, I guess ill just lower the weight, it sucks when I bench and it even hurts at 135lbs. I dont wanna go lower than that, then im gonna just look like a *****.

Repped! Looking lean and mean bro- good work ! :Nthat

Thank u bro!

I am giving myself a C+ this fall because my consistency fell off a slight bit...mainly due to an injury.

The poor grade is mainly due to nutrition. super slacking in terms of getting all my meals. I can also stand to eat a bit cleaner.

Overall, I am seeing great gains. I still hover at 200-205 but its quite obvious that Ive gained muscle in when i look in the mirror.

I wanna buckle down and get to about 190-195, then gain 10lb of muscle. Gotta stay Focused!!!!!!!!

Well bro you are using different muscle groups is those 2 different exercises. One wont correlate with the other because of that, and to keep it hot 320 is a lot of weight to be doing chin ups, esp for reps.

Maybe you meant to say 220? 320 at your height is extremely overweight.

naw man it 320 used to play football in college and some adult league stuff. just one of my goal to get stronger was the pullup...
my cardio is good doing about 8 minutes for my mile time , but i feel like im not geeting any stronger

This will be my first thanksgiving since I've started my diet. I hope I don't pig out and end up regretting it. Def cheat day for sure.

Yo if anything cook and bring a few healthy options to the dinner!

I remember last thanksgiving I was on a super-clean cut.

I whipped up some spiced turkey meatballs on a bed of rosemary white rise.

My fambs loved it.

Do it bro!
