STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

Been doing all my lifts in just running shoes and stuff and my strength coach recommended I get some weightlifting shoes. I looked online seems like the adipowers are the leading shoe to get but they are pretty expensive are they worth it?

i have chucks there od narrow. the main reason I want the weight lifitng shoes is for the stability and elevated heel I have like no ankle mobility at all.

Check Marshall's. I grabbed a grey pair for like $20 a few weeks ago. The had like every size, but none of them were in order. I spent like 30 minutes trying to find my size lol.

What exercises are you going to use them for and can I ask what weights you are at? I personally went barefoot for a long time till I was up in weight and bought nikes weightlifting shoe. Romaloes 2. They do the job but didn't 'need' them like I said until I was pulling and squating more weight.

Ya get some shoes haha that's some good weight you're working with. Rasied heel on the squats is life changing haha

I can vouch for the romaleos being well built, stable and worth the price for me. Forefoot flex is enough. Overall great shoe. All my maxes performed in them.

Dog I'm whylin.im 5.8 -about 190. I let my gut turn into a beer belly, but I'm not fat fat. I old Easley run off the gut. My thing is ******* still love me and some even like it. Would I feel better doin it for me? Is it even worth the time and energy? Could I just work arms out neck shoulders all uppers and kind even out the stomach, what do the experts think
Dude you should've been doing it for yourself to begin with and not for other people. And I'd workout legs too and not just the upper body.

Been looking into NB Minimus Zero Life for squats. I've always hated chucks, can't ever see myself wearing them

From someone that lifts a decent amount of weight (hang snatch 185, hang clean 260, back squat 345) I can tell you that weight lifting shoes are well worth it over chucks. While Chucks are nice because they're flat and keep you close to the ground, the elevated heel and support straps that lifting shoes have are well worth the cost. I'd say they help prevent injury too and help you lift more weight. They can really help you feel the positions you need to hit in those Olympic lifts. I'd say get the romaleos if you can justify the price (I don't regret mine) or try the VS Athletics lifting shoes for about $50-60

i've been wearing the same nike free 7.0 for YEARS (since 2006?) and they're still my go-to workout/running/hiking shoes. surprised they've held up through all the abuse.

i think the general point of a "good" workout shoe is something low to the ground and with minimal cushioning. the frees have a lot more flex than what you would want in an ideal weightlifting shoe, but they work for my purposes.

I just workout in some old AM 95's out the stash

I work out in a variety of beaters... Js, am90s, 95s, or whatever's laying a around.

This is NT so... I'm usually one to match my clothes for the most part (even tho matchy matchy is frowned upon in this establishment) but I intentionally don't match my clothes at the gym.

I understand that the chicks do it, and maybe the male trainers (it's there job), but the guys that try extra hard to have an "outfit" at the gym kill me. My own brother is guilty of it smh

*edit*
Let me be a little more clear. I'm not talking about a black tshirt and black shoes. That's fine, I do that, everybody does that. I'm talking teal nike dri fit shirt with black shorts wit teal accents and teal am2013s. those guys

Most comfortable shoes I own. My pairs have been beaten like Tina and they're still going strong.

i just bought the adidas adipowerlifts. definitely worth the money, imo

my knees dont get sore anymore, that alone is what made them worth it.
