STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

Where my runners at?

So lately i've been noticing my soles hurt a bit while running and my lower back gets stiff quick. I have some Asics gt-2170's. They felt great when i first got them but now it seems that they are getting a bit uncomfortable with the aches and pains. I got at least 500 miles in them. Anyone have any recommendations or insight?

Any NTers use a nike fuelband?

Its really helping me to remind me to get off my butt when I'm feeling lazy

lower back makes sense

soles hurting either means you run improperly or its time for new shoes

i was thinking about it

but its a gimmick, for real, its for people who like accessories

I understand its a gimmick so some extent.

I've had multiple times though where I was planning on calling it quits for the day, looked at my points and decided to keep going.

I slip into laziness a lot less now that i've had it.

I'm enjoying it.

I finally went from 250lbs on June 2012 to 200lbs today. :D

But I also got accused of being on steroids at my gym today :{

I'm all natural so I'm piss and flattered at the same time.

sucks that im trying to stay lean, only thing i have a problem on my body is that my arms are lacking severely on the back/tricep

id be so happy if i had a lot of muscle/mass on the back of my arms. everything else looking good :smokin :smokin

How do you guys feel about Muscle Pharm?

which product are you looking at? i know they are supposed to be pretty solid company and haven't heard much complaint or accusation surrounding them

Yea, i follow their twitter and facebook accounts and enjoy seeing their daily workouts that are posted. I'm been staying away from weights for about a month now except for 2 sets of dumbbells I use for that Spartacus workout.

I'm interested in the Assault:

I'd stick to the elliptical for now. Does it hurt when you walk for a long period of time?

Anyone do back and legs WITHOUT deadlifts?

I hurt my lower back awhile back doing them and I'm really not too interested in doing them again. Anyone have any suggestions on exercises that can replace deadlifts?

How long did you tear it? I got a grade 3 ligament tear in my right ankle a year ago and I didn't do any running for about 3 months. I tore it playing soccer. Started messing with Crossfit first and didn't play soccer until about 6 months after I tore it. It was a pretty bad tear

I don't do DL's, I feel my form is way too awkward to do them properly.

I do do Romanian and Stiff Leg deads though

315 on the DL today.

Only 3 reps, but man did they feel good.

My squats sucked after though, I was drained.

Yea, I always felt I was going to hurt myself too. I recently started doing sumo DL's and I think I like those better.

Sorry for the delay, been a crazy week to say the least.  As promised.

Sweet Potato Hummus

Ingredients:
1 pound sweet potatoes, washed
1 tsp. cumin powder
1 large lemon, juiced
1 tsp. sea salt
Dash cayenne pepper (use more if you like spice)
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 TBL. Organic Grade B Maple Syrup
1-15 oz. can chick peas or cooked dried chickpeas
2-3 tablespoons tahini*
Veggies for dipping (My favorite is red pepper slices)
Fresh ground black pepper

Bake or microwave sweet potatoes until fully cooked. Allow the potatoes to cool, then remove the skins and discard them, retaining the flesh.

Add sweet potato to the food processor (or blender) together with the lemon juice, cumin, sea salt, cayenne pepper, black pepper, maple syrup, chick peas and tahini. Add Olive oil while blending. Blend until smooth and creamy. Add more oil if needed or a small amount of water if hummus is too thick. (I use a little water & omit the oil)

Drizzle hummus with Olive oil and sprinkle with Pumpkin seeds. Serve hummus with fresh veggies!

I also hit 315 yesterday on deads... Only twice tho

That's also why I do legs and then dl on back day a couple days later

I had been stuck on 275 for awhile, and now I realized my grip had been failing after too many sets prior.

Is the liquid chalk as good as reg chalk? I need to get one or the other... Just wondering if the convenience of no mess is worth it

Liquid grip is great. I haven't failed once since I've used it. Hit all my max lifts with it.
