It was awesome seeing my kids get all dressed up to see it the second time, even brought their porgs and chewie, my 5 year old didn't want him to miss it. Disney has made fortunes catering to that set, and they got it down to a science.

Teaching kids to be rebel scum

Empire did nothing wrong?

The second (first) trilogy is actually so much better than I gave it credit for ... After watching the first two instalments of the third trilogy, story telling and cohesion in TPM and AotC and RotS were top-notch ...

I can say for the first time ever I actually fell asleep watching a Star Wars movie ... It was a sad moment in my life lol ...

And I don't know why but when Phasma bit the dust I was actually angry ... Like, how forced was that scene? Emerging from the fog, with the throw away Finn story culminating with a tired execution ... It just seemed like too much at that point ...

Whoever made the point about Vader vs. Kylo being so lopsided that this trilogy can't win hit the nail on the head ... Every time I see kylo I'm just like o, ok ... You're the ****in problem /Mike Epps

Still thinking about that awesome Poe x BB8 attack sequence in TLJ. One man/droid army, that guy can fly.

That’s one of the problems I have with TLJ. Before the crash, troopers, Phasma, etc. have surrounded Finn and Rose. There is no escape. After the crash there is only a few troopers laying around. Where did everyone go? Then you have a few troopers and Phasma walking through the fog some hundred plus feet away like they just walked into a bar. That scene makes no sense.

Probably could've used a scene of the troopers being thrown across the hangar during the crash.

Like what most car/train/bus/spaceship crashes look like during collisions

Luke tosses his and his father’s lightsaber but tries to give emotional relevance to Han’s dice

And then Leia leaves it behind :stoneface:

True, agree with the first part but then again those dice weren't really there (maybe even Leia knows that and she leaves them for Kylo to see). Forgot to mention that was another thin that irked me, him tossing his lightsaber nonchalant. Even just dropping it and walking would have been better. That was literally one of the best parts of TFA, the build up to that moment and they turned it into lightweight forced comedy smh.

Ok temporarily rewatching TLJ a 2nd time as I wait for the next viewing of The Post.

Got in 10 min before the Leia Mary Poppins scene.

Guess I'll try to catch anything I missed. View it with a more analytical eye. I'm already noticing the porgs and Chewy humor scenes a bit more.

*patiently waits for CP to post that TLJ passed the 1 Billion mark as if it means anything”

That's really not what ppl are complaining about (you have certain ppl going to great lengths to compare Snoke's death to Sidious', Phasma's death to Fett's, even making parallels to the prequels as precedence for anything happening in the sequel trilogy just to say its not different).

Suffice it to say, just because something is the opposite of what you didn't like doesn't make it something that is good or something that you willautomatically like.

You might not like your pie too sweet. That doesn't mean you want it made with a vat of salt.
I agree with you. There's enough valid points of criticism that I don't fault people for disliking TLJ, if they do. But my issue is people who want it both ways and then get upset when its one way. Or pull some ridiculous **** out of their *** and reach for things to dislike. Like Luke being a child molester or hating that it was women in charge. But I digress.

Again, I've outlined a lot of things I had issues with and talking with friends last night about the film dredged up some deep resentment for how they handled Leia, just as one example. But my post was aimed at those who dislike the film for being "too different from the previous trilogies" or can't handle change happening. We're at 8 films, change was needed and people are overreacting to that point. If they didn't think the story was cohesive enough to facilitate a change, that's one thing. Getting pissed at a 2 second scene of a child force pulling a broom to himself is another, and something people are overreacting to.

l. Like Luke being a child molester or hating that it was women in charge. But I digress.
That **** is grossly ridiculous and I don't rock with it at all.

Okay, I can feel you here and its totally understandable reaction and commentary on ppl overreacting.

However, there are some ppl dumb and lazy enough to try and group ppl with legit criticisms with ppl with the extreme hatred. There are some ppl dumb enough in here to say you can either like or dislike/hate the movie and if you liked it then you can't criticize it at all. Apparently to them saying you enjoyed a movie means it was without flaws and shouldn't be discussed.

I can't get down with that type of bull ****.

You know we are 8 episodes in and people are saying something needed to change. No, no it doesn't need to change. Its been doing this for 8 movies so that means it works. Why change it up since its already working? hehe

"The Star Wars movie made lots of money in the box office. Disney is winning. :pimp::pimp::pimp::pimp:"

"The real test will be to see if other Star Wars/Disney movies also make money."

It's not just movies anymore, it's bigger than that. I walk through toy aisles constantly and it's everywhere. When they open the park at Disneyland and Disney world, it will be a huge draw. Star wars is constantly going to be evolving to meet the ones they want the money from. Unfortunately for some, it isn't them anymore.

Please watch it 4 more times before providing an opinion; after that, you'll finally understand the movie and appreciate how deep and amazing it is

I thought the minutes minimum was 10 times and 5-10 years passing before you could truly appreciate how profound this movie is

Funny thing is, no one said that.

And you were backing those with extreme ridiculous criticisms, and now actin like a victim for bein called on it. *Shrugs*

Is it at all possible the broom scene is/was a nod to the next trilogy?

Iono, 50 years into the future, the legacies of Rey, Kylo, Finn, Poe all complete, a new generation of Force users (good and bad) exist, neither First Order or Rebellion, maybe that story is where Rian goes, and the kid with the broom is merely a future Easter Egg to it?

Just guessing, for all I know he could go back in time and stay completely away from Sith or Jedi, do like a space pirates trilogy or somethin.

Legacies dont matter. Let the past die.
Broom Boy is nobody. The force is in everybody. Everybody is nobody. The people who are somebody are evil. Thats how nobody becomes somebody by selling to everybody because they dont care about anybody. Nobody should be a slave. The force frees everybody from being nobody. It is the balance between everybody and anybody who is somebody. Meaning nobody owns it. Just watched it for the 34th time. It's so profound.
