rose could have been a great character. but ofcourse minority characters are never set up to be great in the star wars universe.

She was a mechanic. I fail to see how she could have been a great character. I think the amount of screentime she got in TLJ was too much to begin with.

Agreed. Movies aren’t meant for mechanic sidekicks when it’s something as epic as Star Wars. Mite as well make some random Shield agent the star of Iron Man.
The hate is that she should simply be a side dish or appetizer. Instead she was shoved down our throat as a main course during TLJ. Annoying at best and criminal at worst.

Exactly what they said. She’s supposed to be just another character. She was boiler room security and suddenly became another strong female LEAD character In a movie that made Hux, Finn, Poe, Ackbar, etc. little *****es.
She was shoved down our throats by being a walking message. As far as I’m concerned, she sexually assaulted Finn at the end. Trash character and her sister was hotter.

I saw what they were trying to do with Rose's character, but if they were really about that life they would've had Rey played by an Asian American female.

Didn't hate Rose but I would've preferred different for her role in TROS.
Like do something with the character. The shoulder tap are you coming only to say Leia wants me to do this meaningless work so I won't be in the movie was one of the more blatant shots at TLJ. I thought she might have sacrificed herself in the final battle for Finn or something.

And that’s one big reason having TLJ in the middle is such a big problem: lack of new character development.
Everybody is introduced in TFA. TLJ should have been set months/years down the line. Could have shown how kids get abducted into First Order( feel for Finn’s story), how Poe’s previous gig would have attracted allies and how civilians lived under First Order rule (feel for Rose’s story).
Instead we get one long a-$-$ chase sequence and main Hero as bitter hermit who dies too early.

I can not stress enough how Rian did nothing with the main cast and didnt develop the characters in any interesting way. Poe and Finn are useless there. He really thought he was doing it with casino royale planet is actually corrupt and abusing animals. Same with the message sent with Benicio's characterAgree to all.

He focuses everything on Rey/Kylo and Luke rationalizing poor decisions and again banks the entire movie on killing Snoke. **** is so bland.

No need to really, Sir Alec Guinness looked a little older than the character should have been anyways but it's an acceptable trade off for a good actor.

You know I was just thinking about this and lack of black representation which is still an issue (I was unlocking all of the characters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and not a single one is a black person. Got blue and pink Pokemon, animals, etc. Then I started thinking about video games and the lack of black main characters to play as which is why Super Smash has none but thats a whole other topic) when I was watching that Revan youtube vid.
I went on to watch a gang of other CivilizationEx SW Sith character vids (all a bunch of white males and like 3 white females) and I'm like damn, since they made the EU non-canon but are slowly making certain characters a part of continuity again this is the perfect time to switch it up for diverse casting.
Need to make Vitiate a native American looking dude and when he body hops in to being Valkorion that needs to be an Asian guy.
