He stayed in his own little world defending his "belt" against nobodies, and his most notable win is Kessler (don't bring up that overhyped Lacy).

And tell me who Jones ducked?

Ok if you insist.

Let's do it in chronological order shall we.

Julian Jackson between 1989 and 1993, the former WBA 154 champ Jackson was the WBC 160 champ and he'd only ever lost one fight in his long career and that was a bogus stoppage he was easily winning. I'm not saying he could have but if he did hit jones with that right hand it would have been over instantly.

Gerald McClellan between 1989 and 1995, the G-Man was undefeated in the 1990's with 20(yes 20) first round knockouts until quitting with a bloodclot on the brain in a fight with Nigel Benn. He was the WBC 160 champ. And if you recall McClellan actually defeated Jones at the 1988 Golden Gloves.

Nigel Benn(one of my personal all time favorite fighters)between 1989 and 1996. Benn was 22-0 with 22 KO's at one point, he travelled to America to fight in 1989 and 1990 and knocked out Doug DeWitt and Iran Barkley in their own backyard of America to win World titles, he went on to make 10 defences of his WBC crown. Jones was actually Benns mandatory contender at super-middle weight in 1992 but jones decided to move down in weight class and lose his belt automatically instead of fighting Nigel Benn. That is the definition of ducking someone.

1996 Chris Eubanks was undefeated in 10 years and over 43 pro fights and a 2 weight class world champ and he called out jones after nearly every fight. He went so far as to announce he would bet a portion of his own purse on a first round knockout against jones but of course jones never even considered that fight cause it was a true threat.

Frankie Liles whooped jones in the amateurs and actually scored a standing count on Jones. He was World Champion at 168 from 1994 to 1998 and wanted to fight jones his whole career. He had height and power and was a southpaw but again jones refused any attempt at even talking to the man.

Other then Benn his most obvious horrible cowardly ducking was of Stevie Collins. He seemed like an ok fighter but in 1995 he hired a psychologist, hit theweights, got a nutritionist, started training with Freddie Roach and renamed himself the celtic warrior. He become a freaking monster and would have ended jones career if that fight went any kind of distance. He was smart and fearless and his pressure was constant running forward and throwing bombs upstairs and down. He RETIRED Benn and Eubank actually destroying both of them twice and he even went to jones backyard in florida for all of Jones fights. This bastard would climb into the ring after Jones fights and called him a coward in front of the whole world. He even showed up at the post-fight press conferences and yelled to everyone that Jones was a "yellow dog". Jones clearly avoided the celtic for over 3 years before steve finally retired saying Jones was scared of him and would never ever fight him. To this day Freddie Roach says he has no doubt Collins would have KILLED jones in his prime.

There are many more but those are MY personal favorites on the jones ducked me list.

Hell from 1993 to 1997 Jones fought ONE mandatory contender for his belt. Just one. That alone should tell you the whole story.

This is the same man who called out Mike Tyson back when tyson was still good and instead of following through with what he told everyone he was gonna do he went up to heavyweight and fought john ruiz who is quite possibly the worst heavyweight to ever own a belt in the history of the universe then of course jones spouts a list of great heavyweights he will fight next since he has the belt but he for some reason drops his belt and doesn't fight any other heavyweight ever again.

The saddest part is when he finally stepped up to the likes of tarver he got knockout out cold and decided to start fighting names and got knocked out again, and again. Not cause he wasn't great but because he was too damn old and it was too damn late to decide to man up and fight great fighters. He could have been one of the best ever but he avoided the true tests in so many weight classes when he was in his prime. You know speed and reflexes go with age but power sticks around and his style was all speed and reflexes so by the time he decided to fight for glory it was 10-15 years too late.

The thing that bugs me personally about fighters who duck people and call themselves the greatest of all time is that i find in insulting towards fighters who did fight everyone win lose or draw. It pisses me off when people like floyd care more about keeping the undefeated thing going then they do about fans or boxing or the history of what was once the greatest sport in our country.

The day they stopped paying winning and losing purses and everyone started deciding how much they get regardless of the outcome of the fight was the day boxing started to go downhill.
