Serious question for white people: What makes you proud of your race/culture?

I'm not trying to incite a riot here...I'm just trying to understand. I'm trying to learn something new. I've always wondered was there ever asense of self awareness taught within white families like there are in black families. Basically...what foundation is your pride built on? What makes you proudto be white? Or is this something ya'll don't think about at all? I guess you can say this is sort of a spinoff of the WET thread but this was atotally different topic and could stand on it's own. But...go ahead...enlighten me please.

Right...so then my question still applies. I'm asking THEM what makes them proud of who they are and if certain principles taught within black families are taught in theirs.

but you're also lumping them all into one homogeneous group of "white" people, even though I'm sure each culture is different intheir own way

if certain principles taught within black families are taught in theirs.
I think laying out some those principles would be helpful to know what you're referring to.

That's way too broad. Like Dirty mentioned there are a lot of different races/cultures not just white. Anyway I'm Italian so there is a lot ofemphasis on family and food

Right, but what I think OP is trying to ask is: Why do a majority of Caucasians in this country show so much pride to the point they think they own this land.
I don't gather that at all, but OP correct me if I'm wrong.

I am proud of my families cultures.. and how my family came over here as nothing immigrants living in tenements in Manhattan, to having a normal middle classAmerican life today

but i think culture aside, as being white.. your kinda taught you can't be proud of you color because then your considered a racist.. maybe that's justhow it comes off to me.. any one else feel the same way?

Ehh...white people are white people. They can still ANSWER the question from their specific background point of view. What would be the point ofme making a list like you did...when they're still white people? Why waste the time? There wasn't any confusion in my original post. If I was Italian Iwould have entered the post and responded with, "well coming from an Italian background....so on and so forth". I really don't understand howthat's confusing.

There are various ethnic groups/heritage within the white race like dirty stated. Your race does not solely define your heritage. For example, I relate morewith my Nigeria heritage than my "race".

Well even though I'm white. I consider myself Polish above all. I was born there and then moved to the US. I'm proud of my culture's rich historywhich I read thoroughly. Poland had some prestigious times. Then it fell on some hard times. It fell off the face of European maps for 200 years. Yet theculture remained and stayed true. No matter whether you were under the occupation of Austria, Germany, Romania, or Russia. Everyone kept their Polish cultureand traditions. It's something I very proud of. Very few cultures kept their identity under such expensive occupations. Especially when the occupiers triedto force their own culture and destroy yours under all costs.

There are some negative stereotypes I had to endure myself for being Polish as I've been growing up. But I don't care about ignorant people.

Just dont get the questions .. I'm sure all the cultures are proud for being what they are just for the fact that they are what they are if that makessense to you ..

exactly what I was thinking.

I took the questions like why are you proud to be white since your race brought so much death and pain to the blacks. But then again I might of have beenreading to much into it ... SMH!
