Restaurant put "Fat Girls" on these ladies check

not getting involved in the debate, but thought Id give my .02
why couldnt they have used an article of clothing one of the "fat girls" had on?
its ok when theyre fat, but once race gets involved its not OK?
its wrong what the waiter did.... or at least that he let it get to the table.
its wrong using a derogatory term, race, or anything that would offend the guest. Period.
I think clothing is a secondary form of identification.

Sex
Race
Weight/Hair Color

Clothes would come way after all of those options ^ were used.

pobre cochitas...

thats why i dont mess with chicks from my own race

especially them short thickums,

they get pregnant with just one drop and they swell up like these girls..

race wouldnt be wrong either... but even then that would be an assumption... and wouldnt be a factual statement... You could make a educated assumption that a person is of a certain race... esp... all my spanish speaking... and mongloid ppl... how many times have you been labeled called the wrong race... etc... based on an assumption or what you kinda look like. Hell my sister many times growing up was often labeled as white and she is not.

But fat/overweight... isnt an assumption and is simply factual based... its like saying an infant... It isnt assumed or opinion based... or based on unfactual things like emotions, feelings etc...

And as far as saying something offensive that is subjected again to something that has absolutely nothing to do with facts and is emotion based..

Example 2 fat chicks... one get mad/one doesnt... regardless of how either chick feels about the statement... the statement still stand as a fact if infact they are fat...

Thats like iuno i have a pearl white toyota sequoia... you may think its ugly/the next man may think its good looking... end of the day regardless of their opinions or how they view it... it still remains a fact that my car is a white toyota sequoia...

problem is ppl are taking facts... and discrediting them... or finding them offensive simply because they dont like them... or it envokes personal issues/emotional hangups and insecurities that they associate with said fact.

If i call my daughter a girl... regardless if she likes it dont likes it... wishes she was a woman and feels as if she is a woman... the fact still remains she is a 10 y/o girl... and not a woman... Now if that hurts her feelings um...ok but nothing i said was offensive...or derrogatory or said negatively... now if you choose to associate something negative about yourself... based on a fact thats your hangups... And in that instance you already have that thought preconceived anyways.....

So even then its still baseless and pointless... and it still wouldnt change facts... This so reminds me of those religious threads... but i aint even trying to go there

so what should we do if there are multiple tables of black people.

how should we label their bills.

go ahead, i'd love to hear this response.
ok i play along.... he used fat as it distinguished the set/table of girls from everyone else there... So um it wouldnt make sense to use something to distinguish... a group of something... whereas the trait you are using isnt unique and distinguishing seperating from the group.

I mean you do realize what you just said/asked was completely idiotic....right... ? Your basis would be like a closet with 30 shirts all black and one white and say oh why did you say hand me the white shirt... why didnt you say hand me shirt 26... Um because it is easier to establish a distinction by saying the white shirt as oppose to shirt 26... So if i wanted a black shirt and lets say one of them was a button down silk shirt... then i would say hand me the button down silk shirt.. as oppose to the black shirt since their is multiple black shirts in the closet, and simply saying the black shirt wouldnt be a form/means of a simple easy to remember distinction... amongst a closet with a sea of black shirts.

But you're assuming everybody else in the restaurant was not fat. You dont know what anybody else looked like. I still think my suggestion to use table numbers makes more sense but you're gonna tell me its easier to use "fat girls" than "table 4".

what if it were a NTer who was the one who wrote the receipt.

and he wrote thick girl?

is it a matter of fact or opinion?

It should be common sense to not refer to sensitive attributes such as weight, race or height. People get sensitive over these things.

You're from Stockton?
My condolences.

it was their bill so i assume yes.
unless their are separate data entry systems for billing for customer copies and house copies
I would assume the 2nd option.

Physical label/identification part is probably meant to be seen by the workers and not the customers.

Y'all will bicker about anything. :lol

There's something called etiquette. This restaurant didn't have any.

but im guessing based on the restuarant business he didnt help every person in the restuarant... so again i challenge your assumption with your assumption that he was the only employee, that he didnt have a set amount/or established a certain set of tables he worked...in which case lets say he was helping 3 tables at the time... which is it to assume that they were all fat...the 3 tables he helped or that he used deduction... and used a method of singling out one of the 3 groups/tables he helped by making a mental/and in this case a written note... to distinguish between said 3 tables he provided servitude.

heres a thought... maybe a slight suggestion... you just might want to iuno read previous comments in a thread before posting lame **** overused gifs at attempt to catch e-laughs etc.... this was stated already on what page one, in what i believe one of the first responses in the thread... We have already established it falls under the social norm of not using etiquette... matter of fact i stated this iuno in the 3rd or 4th response in the thread....

I mean its one thing to be late...extremely late at that... but hell you dont even have a pass for it...

I thought they just numbered tables according to a seating chart and that was used on the bill also?

This dude. Reaching again. I'm not even trying to be funny. You're trying too hard to make a horrible point [like analogizing this **** to a closet of shirts, wth]. Hence, the reach.

Factual terms have connotations to them. It's pretty simple.

so what was your point... to repeat the same thing someone said iuno a few hrs ago.... a few pages ago in the same thread... Um matter fact it was myself who said the exact same thing minus the lame gif... i mean if you werent going to contribute to the convo and basically repeat the exact same thing i said earlier you could have either a.) just repped it b.) just said ok i agree kept it moving or added a comment or your own thoughts to the subject that was currently discussed... c.) or at least made the repeated comment by simply copying/pasting or made the sidenote comments/gifs amusing/funny.

But you did neither which shows you just jumped in, not knowing what we spoke of...and wasnt aware that we cahnged the basis of the subject of the thread. Or for some odd reason felt it was neccesarily to basically just repeat the same point that someone else said (being that it was me) over again waaaay down in the conversation... in which that very point was established and we moved on from that particular point.
