Why are republicans wanting to fight a law that will make it not possible for someone who was on the "no fy" list to purchase a gun? Makes sense for them not to be able to purchase one unless i'm missing something.

I don't agree with it at all but the logic is that the government can put anyone on that list and it'll stop them from being able to own a gun. It can be a slippery slope if you don't trust the people deciding who goes on the list I guess.
A little ironic considering how extreme they are with other stuff.
