T-Pain made a impact but I dont know about
laugh.gif

What T-Pain is a classic to you? His first 2 albums are good but i aint never heard somebody say Rappa Turnt Singa or Emphany are classics.
In my personal opinion, both of those albums are classics. THe Thr33 Ringz album is awesome as well.

"I'm Sprung" "I'm in love with a stripper" "Bartender" "Studio Love" Classic **** for me man. Quality, melodic records, were hits. Crazy good relateable songwriting. I mean who hasn't been in a situation like I'm Sprung or Bartender? I know I have lol and if you've ever been to a strip club you know where I'm in love with a stripper is coming from.

T-Pain is literally the playbook by which mainstream pop rap uses today. He was so far ahead of his time.

His albums though, as far as general consensus goes aren't classics i'll concede that. But T-Pain himself is a classical prodigy that doesn't get the respect he deserves. He's a legend.

Idk, it just seems like people take for granted his contributions to music. He was writing and producing hits at like 19, 20 years old.

totally agree
i honestly overlooked his first album
and epiphany and his whole lil feature run and thr33 rings
had made me realize i was tripping
he is really a musical genius and over looked cause of that autotune hate wave

To this very day when something bad happens to the homies or with anything, I use the phrase "Chopped and Screwed" because of this song. Dude was making melodic hits out of real life ****.

If you've ever ****** with a female how can you not rock with Pain man we all know what it means to be chopped and screwed

Put some damn Respek on T-Pain's name. 808's & Heartbreak is the blueprint to modern pop rap and & r&b and T-Pain inspired that and he was 19 years old when he made that. We don't look at him as a legend but he EASILY is...like without debate.

Yeah the hate ruined him. Most people don't even know that many songs from his first album was sung with no autotune and he was a decent singer

So Lil Jon had classic albums too :lol

Funny conversation when quality doesn't even matter, just influence.

I guess we need to start saying Too The Extreme and Let's Get It Started are classic albums :lol

Yeah that's when the source started losing their credibility with Bezino.
Stick to the point.:lol People was not waiting years and years to say what's a classic.

You don't seem to get it, most likely intentionally. That term wasn't even used.

Just like several things in sneaker culture like hypebeast and reselling didn't always exist. Did people just start buying sneakers ten years ago?

Nobody heard The Chronic or 36 Chambers and said the album was classic the first day or even a year later. People didn't start using that term until the term became popularized.

You're arguing against something you weren't even around to experience, and have no basis to even argue against it on.

You just typed a bunch of nothing. Just cuz you was around during the Temptations era don't mean you right. People was definitely calling those albums classics and it take no 10-20 years.

Buy you a drink is such a dope song. It's perfect.

Sht just make you feel good. Start hitting the lil joc motorcycle dance all in the club :lol

i thought i was the only one

that beat is heavenly and ahead of its time by at least 5 years

little intricacies like the synth delays and the filtered choir or whatever that sound is

give this man his respect

i feel like its become apparent music needs a message or to have extra words to be considered classic or timeless to some people

y'all are judging these albums based off of hip hop standards and not whether or not theyre just good music that can change your mood

a ***** spitting words fast @ me over scrambled jazz chops and metal noises has never made me feel good or warm inside

I'm feeling this Teddy Pain appreciation right now :smokin

its funny because one little side comment that he thought bolstered his point completely backfired

im glad i wasnt the only one who thought pain was criminally underrated as a musician

if he doesnt ever get a second wind then this game is ****** up

on another note la reid just left epic and it just came out that its likely due to sexual harrassment allegations

tomorrow show about to be fire

i used to hate that there were no weekend eps but its good to let stories build up bc u can definitely tell when its a slow news day

he keeps making songs that should flourish in the new climate but for whatever reason theyre not connecting

i feel like he has to completely reinvent his image bc as evidenced by this thread a large majority of people still view him as the gimmicky club hit guy

You stay reaching with this nonsense. You act like this was pervasive sound throughout hip-hop...as if ****** didn't grow up on bone thugs, three six, no limit, timbaland, Swizz, etc.

****** stay trying to act like everything was "boom bap, Premier-EsquE" type beats. You think ****** just magically went from boom bap to trap beats? Clearly there was a transition through those sounds and thats what most of us in here grew up on.

Cut the ********
