Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

Drug talk in rap been a mess for years now, in the 90’s/ 00’s there was exaggeration but it made sense for the most part and alotta dudes even had a hint of truth to their drug talk

now no authenticity, facts or believability in it ....it’s sounds good to the burbs n ppl that no nothing about it so it’s gon keep winning ...n this ain’t just the new young cats ( even they they the worst wit it ) , it’s goes all the way from dudes like future on down

Everybody the plug now or got a straight line to him ...n 17 year olds coming on the scene talking like they been heavy drug users for years like they could afford or easily access/handle it  :smh:

While I do think that "toxic masculinity" thing is BS, CTG gotta sit down. People just throwing "woke" around like it's something wrong with being aware.

But how do you connect Drake with "toxic masculinity"? Son's image from day 1 is to be the soft and sensitive guy.

Shea butter Twitter been saying dude uses women as props and is obsessive and all this other **** for a while now. His image depends on the song. One day it's Marvins Room, next day he wants to **** every girl in the world.

****** peeped drakes game when he was on views mad that 30 y/o women didnt wanna live in a frat house with him and his ****** he been wanting it both ways in his lyrics for a while

i feel like he gonna have one of them fabolous type situations where he turn out to be a sick cold *** dude behind all the smiles and pro women songs waay down the line

whats so crazy is that the drug culture is so prevalent in ****** who were nowhere near that and it really just stems from ****** being scared to rap about anything else

but the scarier part is that maybe its like that bc the consumer might not accept anything else

fam I’ve read comments in this forum where dude don’t want anything but drug rap from rappers and I’m sure that sentiment is shared by others outside this forum.

hell even akademiks brought light to it with the 21 situation.

some would rather hear lies about running off on the plug (where they do that at?) than to hear anything uplifting coming out these dudes mouths.

The Weeknd sold 70K first week, streamed 97K, total week was just under 170K for a surprise album. That’s crazy.

Cardi expected to sell 45K-55K with streams she gonna do 170-200.

Both are impressive
