Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

an even 20

not 18, 19, 22....20

Verse gave me chills at the time and still does til this day. Wasn’t surprised when he decided to step away.

Rappers is talking to me as if
We in the same boat I tell them quick,
"No, I move coke!"
And you and I don't share no common bond
So forgive me if I don't receive you with open arms
It shames me to no end
To feed poison to those who could very well be my kin
But where there's demand, someone will supply
So I feed them their needs, at the same time, cry
Yes, it pains me to see them need this
All of them lost souls and I'm their Jesus
Deepest regret and sympathy to the streets
I seen 'em pay for they fix when they kids couldn't eat
And with this in mind, I still didn't quit
And that's how I know that I ain't **** (I ain't ****)
My heart bleed, but that's aside from the fact
I live for my kids and theirs and them youngins after that

I wonder why no 7 Aurelius in the Murder Inc. doc so far.

He’s listed as either writer or producer on a good amount of their bigger joints.

I was wondering the same.

He has random Murder Inc employees that nobody knows, but no 7, Rob or ***** Santana. Even Cadillac and Vita. I don't think any of them did much outside of Murder Inc. I know ***** worked with Jim a few times.

It's what I've been saying about Berg Hitmaka tag for stuff he's "producing". All the dudes doing most of the work, you might get money, but in history you're absent. You're disposable. Nobody knows to work with you. I think that's part of a big reason Hit Boy wanted to get from up under Kanye. Now Irv can put himself in the same sentence as Dre or JD. Same thing with Puff, he's not shouting out the Hitmen like he should.

The entire doc for Irv is a ego boost.

She’s never moved units, and as a result has never had a real solo tour.

Sounds like someone who would need to pay an artist like Future.

Her "popularity" and numbers don't add up. It was really strengthened by the Tory incident.

She gets mag covers, award shows, tv appearances and commercials like she's a top artist.

She's not on Cardi or Nicki's level. Visibly you would think she is. She's more like Latto, Sweetie and The City Girls.

That's the thing. You're getting these guys at 20, 25. These dudes don't even think about how these tatts will look when they're 40, 50, 60. You think they're thinking about residuals of their music and the percentages 10, 20 years from now? Just like someone 25 isn't thinking about their 401K and retirement. They're cool as long as they got some upfront money.

Dame and Irv are different, other than being abrasive. Irv is cool with being their boy. He's that dude who will try to befriend and get close to everyone with power or money.

The doc is nasty, because it's from the viewpoint of Irv and it's weird getting that perspective. We get Irv's opinion on everything. We get Irv's background, but we learn of Ja from basically CMC. It's why docs should be impartial and from someone else. There's a difference in that Yeezy doc if Kanye has final say. Docs aren't supposed to be a stroke fest.

^ that's why my hype died down when P said he was doing the No Limit documentary. If you not going to let everybody have input, to include Beats by the Pound, C-Murder etc., don't even bother. These dudes don't want to show their mistakes. Show us the mistakes you made when you were in your 20s and 30s. You weren't a perfect CEO at that age

I just looked it up outta curiosity and her first album went platinum. It's a shame they're pushing her on this "strong women" feminism nonsense. She's actually talented but it's not highlighted.

Meg is only getting by because of her looks at this point. She needs to start transitioning into acting or another business.
