Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

Rappers hate getting old. I’m def not dressing like a 16 year old when I turn 40.

How do you know how you're going to be dressing?

And what is dressing like a 16 year old?

If you wear Air Monarch's and cargo shorts people on NT will talk about you. If you wear Jordans and Supreme and NT will talk about you.

When the reality is men and adults shouldn't care how other men dress, and nothing Fab said was incorrect.

The only dudes I knew who cared about how other men dressed were gay dudes on fashion shows and in fashion design.

Right. The jokes are cool but it seems like dudes be serious. On some "you must dress like this..." stuff. It's dudes 18-25 years old that literally dress like females today. That's ok but Fab is doing it wrong? What rules are _'s going by now? :lol

Go look in that Man Purse thread in general.

Wearing backpacks as an adult is "immature"....and wearing the man purse is mature

Alotta people fail to realize that the standard for old men, as far as dressing goes, is about to change/currently changing.

All of us are about to witness the emergence of hips hops “old men”.

What your fathers wear/wore in their 60’s, 70’s & 80’s will be very different than what new generations of old men will wear.

No one is about to ditch what they have known all their lives to adapt to what some stiff *** feels is “age appropriate”.

Marks my words, in the next 15-20 years, you will without question see new age old men.

old heads will be rockin jays, fitteds, yeezys, etc.

The style of dress may tone down with age but the hip hop influence will always be evident.

This is a phase for some of you, its a lifestyle for the rest of us.

One of the best posts in this thread. You could extend this to the workplace/upscale estblishments as well, what was once known as "Casual Friday" is starting to become everyday business casual in professional settings. Now we have high end traditional fashion houses making/collaborating streetwear, just the latest example

This is interesting. I’m guessing Jeezy samples a Flip song, anybody know?

This book signature got me dying, why he play Flip? (Scroll right)

Saw a snippet of Jeezy shooting a video with Master P too the other day.

What did I miss? How J. Prince play Flip?

Dudes are going to hit 35-40 and realize how silly this conversation is.

People normally do four things as they get older as far as dressing

Continue dressing as you did when you were 20-25.
Dress more traditionally
Continuing to update your dress with the current trends.
Stop caring

All of these seem to get you clowned.

My dad has been wearing Bernie Mac silk suits since he was like 35 and is 56 now. I feel like I’m already heading to the phase of dressing like I’m going to a Texans/Rockets/Astros game for the rest of my life :lol

That flip/Jeezy pic is the perfect example of the new old ****** yall talking about. What's funny is Jay was the face of 'dress your age', grown and sexy for like a year or two back when he was pushing 40. Now look at him
