Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

Word. Always knew he was supposed to be MMG and Wale’s mans. Never heard him until the jointbhe had recently, Large Amount. The tape delivered. :smokin

He fell out with Wale right when Wale was blowing up with MMG circa 2011. Wale actually posted on NT about it . But trel had his own movement then and didn’t really need Wale at the time....but he shoulda got the MMG look then. He didn’t get it til like 2015. 4 years to late.

But really what happened with him was he was chief keefs favorite rapper. A lot of early keef is Fat Trel influenced. Both visually and sonically. It’s why one of keefs first collabs was with Trel. And they had that whole Glory Boy/Slutty Boy movement (sounds WILD AYOO now ).

Keef and them even had a lil shootout with Glizzy and them in dc bout Trel.

But Trel saw Keef blowing up...and mostly abandoned what made him, him...and started sounding like Keef and drugging crazy. Them drugs got to yo something crazy...and he remained stagnant and fell off while Glizzy blew right pass him after dissing Trel to get on.

But Trel is dope and a trendsetter. He been on **** a lot of ****** just started to get hip to. And can rap his *** off.

Go bump his **** from 09-12. Some truly good music right there.

Tracy t was supposed to have next a decade ago :smh: swagger right chapter was ahead of its time. Thought the Ross/meek Co sign would’ve helped a little, idk what happened to son.

Wiz always had good production but him as a artist I never got it, just seem like he did what was popular but never had his own identity. Same with ASAP Rocky.

That tape he dropped in 2014 was hard then dude vanished. :lol

I downloaded that G Funk documentary. I need to check it out.

Saw Nate Dog's son going off on Snoop and Warren G because of it though. Said they're using his dad's likeness but not helping his kids or family out.

‘Atrice :hat

Meant to comment the other day about how most of the hip hop moguls are the “haves” within the have nots.

Like the Naymond from the wire type situations. Irv, Diddy, Dame, Baby, JD, Birdman etc were the dudes that were fortunate enough to have a cushion and opportunity. With the exception of JD..They’re the kid that stil lives in the Hood...but has the best house, goes to the better schools, or both parents, or a lil more money that others around them.

That foundation right there is key to how some of these moguls were able to navigate and have some success. I see some similarties in the Irv/DMX dynamic and the Baby/B.G. Dynamic in a sense.

Don't know the story but it seems like family members of deceased stars are always saying "nobody is taking care of us". Even when they're getting something it's not enough money or recognition.

Baby on what happened to that boy saying “coco leaf plant” over and over may be the greatest thing ever.:pimp:

Rappers hate getting old. I’m def not dressing like a 16 year old when I turn 40.
