Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

But I know yall cant wait to turn up to Auntie Diaries during halftime of the Super Bowl. Have fun

This is such a dumb comment, how salty are you bro? It’s been MONTHS. In what world would Kendrick perform a song at the Super Bowl he didn’t do on the tour for the album?

Acting like Mr Morale didn’t have songs like these that all were HYPE on the tour. And Count Me Out might be the best mental health song ever created.

And you know damn well you’ll be watching. 🤣

His mixtape run was great. Just like 50's. Both of 'em took over songs I just laugh when people keep acting like Wayne was this great rapper since a teen.

Nobody was calling him a prodigy back then. I bought all them CMR albums back then. He was good, he had good verses and catchy hooks but people gotta relax. Nas was a prodigy. Prodigy was a prodigy.
Ehh he was rapping on The block is hot at 16-17 years old. I’m far from a Wayne fan but he clearly had it then

It’s generational though. You don’t see very many on here saying rakim is their goat either.

We aren’t slandering uncle L. That man had a greatest hits album before the age of 30. He won battles, crossed over, paved ways. He’s not my goat because the music catered to a different demographic but no one has a resume like his.

And he could rock a mean Super Bowl medley too.

I’m 37 and I barely have memories of LL songs, a FEW. I have more memories of him in Halloween H20 🤣

What part is a lie? Cuz you didn't say anything right here.
Ok let me rephrase. Juvie was that dude in the city through bounce music. BG was the one the streets messed with and Wayne was the pridogy that was going to be the next one up.

Very salty actually. I listened to the album. I liked it. I liked it more than all the new Kendrick fans he just gained these past 8 months off of a Drake diss. He's bigger this year off of two verses than when he dropped his highly anticipated album that the youth didn't appreciate. And now he's doing the super bowl. He should run Aubrey the check like I said before. Yall enjoy

Never BG and Juve were always 1&2

My generation gravitated to Wayne because he was younger than everyone else but BG and Juve were the top dogs
Must be must be an age thing I was around 15 when the hot boys dropped. most of the people I knew in that age group were all rocking with Wayne as either the top hot boy or the second best hot boy

I hope you fiiiiiind some peace of mind

It took Wayne until C1 to really find his lane. He was not a prodigy in the 90's. I seen a few people call him hip hop's Micheal Jackson.

Mike was top 3-5 in his genre as a teen. That wasn't Wayne, wasn't close. Let's not water down terms.
Anyone comparing anyone to Michael Jackson needs to be slapped.

Wayne indeed got better on C1 but it’s not like he had a Jim jones career arc.

So Micheal Jackson and Justin Beiber are the only prodigies to ever exists?

His whole contribution to the cash money movement at that time is enough for you to call him a child prodigy

How? They got the universal deal off BG success and Juvie kicked the door down with 400 Degreez. BG is more of prodigy than Wayne. Choppa City is a classic. BG was like 17 on that.

New Kendrick fans huh?

Tell me why in 2012, the most casual of music fans were wearing shirts that said “B don’t kill my vibe”

Dude headlined festivals in 2015 and since then. The Mr Morale tour sold great! The DAMN tour was also a moment, hell the DAMN release was crazy and had people theorizing over a second album. Then he did the Black Panther soundtrack.
, which is greatness.

But Kendrick wasn’t relevant before, give me a break …. How delusional
