R.I.P Kobe Bryant.

its da identical jacket...Jeff Hamilton hasn't made a modern jacket since da mid 2000's.

don't think he has a current NBA license.

last new Jeff Hamilton made was a custom jacket he made for Drake.

Not identical. "NBA" is not on the chest of Saquon's above "Champions."

Myself and my fiance cried during the tribute.. We turned to our 5 year old daughter ( thinking she was playing on her ipad with her headphones on.) she was in tears quietly as shr watch boyz 2 men.. She knew what was going on after explaining to her what had happened in previous days.. Because she had asked what happened to kobe? Is that the same kobe when i throw stuff in the trash or the clothes basket, when i say kobe?

We hugged her very so tightly.. She cried and let loose.. Then fell asleep shortly after telling her everything was going to be okay because his memory will forever live on and never be forgotten by all the people who loves him all over the world.

I know earlier in the thread some of y'all brought up how Kobe tip toed around the race issue in his career

I find it odd how there are no black coaches or staff at this mamba academy and if there are, (which I don't see) It would be miniscule
I was thinking the same thing. Hardley any girls of color on the team too.

It was probably in a wealthy, well-to-do area that mainly rich white people lived in. We don't know, maybe he had plans to start one in the inner city.

mj did the same thing. they're professional athletes not social activists
Exactly. People need to realize that race is not the forefront of everyones minds. Kobe never sat back and thought, I need more of..... Because it was not a concern of his. I will never believe Kobe or MJ danced around the issue more than they just didnt care to look at life with a label.

What does looking life with a label mean?

Said it when I first seen it, but this logo so damn hard....

It means going through life without reservation toward anyone based on color or background. To allow people to EARN respect and not just give it to them based on. To judge people on what the do and how they treat others. To give respect where its due, and not entitled. Everyone has the right to do this based upon their own choices. People that instantly label are FOOLS. People that see others the same as them without regard of all that other bs understand.
Because certain players choose to become a vocal figure in socialism does not downgrade the players that choose not to. Kobe and Michael were cut from the same cloth. They both wanted to be the best at what they did. Thats all they cared about. To me there is no problem with that. It was never their job do anything other than that. Be basketball players.

So shut up and dribble? So you’re saying people who are activists and conscious about race and racism go through life with reservations toward people based on color and are entitled? What makes your post funny is that Kobe was known for more than basketball.

twisting his words. He's right they're basketball players. Their social circumstances are different from any common folk. Its not needed for them to be vocal about issues on race because ultimately at that level of competition or success its beyond skin color, race. It's like once you pass a certain threshold those things dont matter. Lebron's vocal about it because he's dealt with racism or his circumstances growing up. Kobe and MJ never cared about race in the first place. Just the grace of ball

I see the play on words to twist this into something its not. I know Kobe was more than about ball. Atleast after his Laker career anyway. My point is when you a pro ball player. Your job is to be just that. If you choose to do more, great. But it should not be expected. To say "shut up and dribble" is nothing more than a slam to any basketball player out there. They all have their own thoughts and reasons. It dont mean they should put it all out there for everyone.

SomLebron hasn’t dealt with racism since he’s made it? Seems like it was yesterday someone wrote the N word on his gate. What threshold does race not matter in America?

It's ludicrous to me that athletes and rappers are not only seen as royalty in the black community, but given unfair pressure to be the voice of the black community 🤦🏾‍♂️ let these people do what they want to do, which is entertain. I'm sure there are plenty qualified individuals that are willing and worthy to be the voice.
