Make no mistake, he balled out in the OT. Nobody is taking that from him.

But to make it to OT, zero rating, 4 INT's. No TD's. Tie game thru 60. How many QB's have that luxury?

Perhaps but impossible to know. His role was to be more of a game manager type and he did it to perfection. To a HOF career and three rings; while a guy like Marino (uh oh) had to try to throw his way to victory every game


As far as RW, he had a horrible game (sans a few moments late) but I'm not going to let one game change my view of him. It's one bad game, it happens. Ben had a horrific SB game, but he has shown since that he is a great QB. I expect Russ to do the same

As far as RW, he had a horrible game (sans a few moments late) but I'm not going to let one game change my view of him. It's one bad game, it happens. Ben had a horrific SB game, but he has shown since that he is a great QB. I expect Russ to do the same.

You may be surprised by this based on my posting history about Ben (and my disdain for the Seahawks), but I totally agree with this.  Russell, much like Ben early in his career, has been carried by his running game and team defense.

But much like Ben, I expect Russell to become a much better QB as his career progresses.  But, again like Ben, as the team around him starts to get worse, the Seahawks wont have as much success in spite of Russell eventually becoming a better player than he currently is.

[COLOR=#red]Also, if you read what DMX said... you're basically agreeing with what he said about Dan except you are, once again, forcing Dan Marino into a conversation. You used a Shula quote after the fact... but the same remained when Jimmy was there... so throwing "until Jimmy got there" doesn't equate to your point. It hinders it... because the play stayed the same if not worse. Jimmy mucked things up and would run to Dan and say help... and he played the same as he did under Shula. But I'm sure you can find something in google to prove your point... I know.

Also, Troy's success with Dallas was 100% in connection with his Line and Emmit... Just like A Lot of Emmit's success came from that Line... let's not pretend that massive and talented Line giving Troy 10 minutes to throw doesn't matter. It does... If Troy is behind the Saints line at that time he has success? No... and No. I know Dan played with 15 Hall of Famers and all but had he half that line and one more second... Just saying.
