Now let me start off by saying im a professional fighting game player, and right now were pushing to get the world championships put on ESPN but my question is do u considerate it a sport?
-its a 1 on 1 game of skill

-its something that u really have to fine tune your reflexes at

-Mind games are a huge part

- and if poker is a sport why isnt this?

If card games like Poker are shown on ESPN, why can't pro gaming?
I'm for it. But I'm also more for a dedicated channel for it. Then again, look what happened to G4.

As much as I enjoy watching Poker on ESPN, I dont really consider it a sport. But it is entertaining. I couldnt possibly imagine finding myself sitting down and watching two guys on tv playing Madden.

No offense, but watching two people play video games seems ridiculous to me.

ESPN is a joke, so have at it.

I don't and probably won't ever consider something like this a sport. Sorry man....If you're at all offended.

i see it more as a job then a sport... sport imo is something that is physical and takes physical effort to do like having to sweat while playing that sport... and no cards or darts are not a sport... nothing against pro videogames it takes a lot of work, time and dedication so i would consider it a job more than sport

It's probably plenty competitive but that is no different from many job markets. It's not a "sport" though. You're certainly not an athlete for doing it.

no. not a sport. neither is poker or the spelling bee or the dog show. but if those are on ESPN, then i don't see why not street fighter. keep in mind ESPN does stand for "Entertainment and Sports Programming Network" so it's not wrong for them to show those entertaining, but non-sports events.

it really depends on how people define the term "sport" there's too many definitions out there, too broad. Competitive for sure. takes skills and refinement as well. but me myself, I wouldn't consider it a sport.
