Post Your New Eras*59-Fiftys*etc... VOL. INFINITY NOW W/ Henz0/Thunderchunk/Icy's FAQ ON PG.1

Lids did a similar pack just a few months ago. I feel like HC cruised on reputation with the last three packs. In fact, a lot of the packs I’m seeing all around are looking uninspired.

The HC drop today is ugly as hell
90 minutes later and it seems like half the caps are still sitting.
Aquarius Snake Aquarius Snake its funny how no one’s calling out all mighty HC for copying the lids colors. The inventive nature probably falls more to that Simpsons 4-5 hat unique release more than HC or lids doing one cw with 20 different teams. But a part of me says we need both.

Lids is doing patches for the same price as non patched hats. They are onto something and I like the modest price point.

Does adding a patch to the hat increase the price point? They're added without rhyme or reason and more often than not, don't sync up with the time period that particular logo was used.
one would think it would cost more to make and thus retail would be higher but lids is showing that that’s not always the case. Value wise, yeah. Side patches are in. Some are used more often than others so there’s an appearance of rarity. I prefer all my caps to have just a front team logo and nothing else. It also appears that new era or the teams open the vault from time to time and add new side patches that they’ve never used before. I actually like the stitched in quality compared to how the on fields come glued on, so I don’t mind them. But I won’t seek a specific side patch either. Front logo is king.

Good point about resellers fueling other resellers . I could see $150 in sales go towards another cap they couldn’t get but want. I’d take that $150 and 7 other hats though. But that’s just me.

wallyhopp wallyhopp I’m wondering what the lead time is with custom New Eras and which accounts get priority over others. I’m sure it’s based on volume.

These situations could be coincidences and not copying, but I’m seeing it so much between companies that it can’t be coincidental every time.

When HC was pushing pre orders last year or in 2020, the timing was always 3-5 months.
Now there could be insider leaks (HC designer telling friends about new releases or descriptions and vice versa with others ). Or both saw inspiration somewhere and it’s a race to get them released.
I believe clink room relies on a set #/minimum order for many designs before they are able to get ordered/made. So those delays tend to be in trying to build up a pre order quantity.

Last year they said there was some supply chain issues globally. I think we saw maybe a 2-3 month lull but it all seems almost back to normal. That could play into longer delays too. 2-3 months on top of 2-3 normal months of pre order delays could have really altered release schedules.

Most stuff seems to randomly pop up different places, like that double wahoo. I’ve seen it drop 5 times now. It’s just a matter of time and luck and patience.
From what I’ve gathered, it’s always the initial design that takes the longest for approval. But once that happens, it appears that that logo/patch combo can be expedited onto other orders. I have no idea who gets priority (if any). I know they tend to need to get approval or look at approved design (which doesn’t involve color usage 99% of the time)

It’s legit the same as the drop lids did awhile ago save for a different UV. I wasn’t going to cop but friends gave me a GC to hat club so i grabbed the mariners.

Grab a Mariners as well, but we'll see if I keep or not.

This logo collection history is fire!!

Decent. Price points a tad high.
Not sure why the historical caps (pre 1992) need a batterman of any kind. NE always kept their logos to the sweatband, so the historical type significance of highlighting their older logos is a bit lost

They seemed to get the 87 twins nearly perfect. Green under with a red button has never been done on a retro.
Some logos seem oversized and raised. Another sloppy retro release by new era but let’s perfectly execute a Simpson and snack pack release lol. Why can’t customs steer away from the generally agreed upon cooperstown caps and just get it all right? It seems the caps that are 180 degrees opposite get the preference.

Could it be that Lids is a larger company and they can just eat the cost difference?
Yeah that’s entirely feasible. They’re undercutting and I don’t mind it at all if it brings some balance back to caps. I notice the on fields with side patches can sometimes go for retail and sometimes $2-4 more. The biggest thing is, we haven’t seen an on field price increase in a year or two now. $42 has been beyond stable. It’s a bit odd actually. Maybe they increase by opening day 2022?

All three have the 2003-2005 era tagging. The Phillies is a usa made cooperstown pre 1980s era green under retro. I’ve let this one pass me by over the years. The crown stitching is sort of a see through fishing line type material, which is historically wrong I believe. But the no side flag/no batterman combo always wins out.

The as are a home and road made in USA grey under set. I have a few of these. I’ll never pass up a cheap duplicate.
