Post Your Motorcycle

you haven’t steered me wrong yet. Still love the klx though…

I was thinking plate one or else get a 690 or 701 because I ride a lot on the street and give up a little on the track for way longer intervals.

my coach had me passing sport bikes by out braking them. a little more power on the straights would be nice.
I’m glad you’re having fun out there dude.

the 701 is cool but it’s heavy. Great street bike.

now that you have the experience, 701 for the street, and a SMR for track duty

oh yeah tons of fun, I usually just ride alone by myself after work because I work such weird hours I’m always solo.

that was my goal to get to the track at least once this year.

i’d love to have both but I don’t have anywhere to keep two bikes and that’s a lot of bread. I know the 701 is heavy but it’s only 20 pounds more than my bike now with 4x the power. Plus that would be nice on the highway.

not gonna lie though, the thought of a plated 450 is nice. Idk if I’m about that maintenance though for a daily and track toy.

Always wanted to hit the motocross track with one of my boys but he's permanently damaged from an accident he had and walks with a limp. He still does it though.

Yeah I mean it’s just a choice you have to make. There’s always ways to reduce the risk but it’s not like it will ever be with no risk.

I was almost killed in a car accident now I drive trucks for work. :lol

The ktm 450 and 500 theta come played from factory are great too.

im debating buying either a 125 KTM or 125 Yamaha to Supermoto. I want to experience another 2 stroke with a crazy powerband

Ohhh yeah i didn’t even think of that.

I wish I could test ride them all somewhere.

that would be fun af… aren’t they like 200 pounds?

Maybe not 200 but definitely light. I had a YZ125 set up for woods and single track about 8 years ago. Sold it for college books, but I wasn’t done with it yet.

my derbi has the same kind of kick to it once you twist the wrist. But I want a track only toy to mess with.

you should build one dude. :hat

I wish I lived closer to trails and the track. The track is close but the trails are three hours away.

it would be super sick to build a 125 for both and just swap on some 17s for the track.

that was the exact mindset I had when I built my KTM 350. All I really needed to do to have fun on the street was slap on Sumo wheels, remove the light for a number plate, reattach the license plate, and I was gone. It wasn’t dedicated to any one style, but it was decent wherever you took it, as long as it wasn’t at a slower speed.

That’s what all the sumo guys did at the track too. They all had their trail stickers on and said just had multiple sets of wheels.

they race on ice with them too in the winter once the river freezes.

I’d do that with one of those 500s maybe that you can buy street legal.

so my 300 arrived to the dealership but half the parts i ordered are still on back order, my custom wheels aint done yet either.

luckily I don’t mind waiting but I am excited to see how it turns out

Speaking of SUMO I remember you asking to see the track bike, this is my in-laws

Dude that’s nasty. :hat conversions are always cooler to me. Idk why.

what’s the deal with Hinson clutches? You only need the clutch to start and stop?

Are you asking about their slipper clutch? Because I think they also make stock replacements.

yeah, a slipper clutch is just to dump the clutch on shifts right and it slips so the wheel doesn’t hop and lock up?

some ppl run the hinson cover cuz its stronger in case u fall, but i guess some people run different clutches cuz it has more surface area

I think my bike might be ready today

Kinda excite, might be able to pickup that sucker tomorrow.

Will post pics in here if i do

Yes. You want a controlled skid, not a jumpy one for entry. He also had the Hinson cover to allow for more oil capacity, pretty cheap upgrade depending on bike.

Does anyone have any real life experience with the KTM free ride series? I’m looking into the e bike scene for a new alternative. I know it won’t be the same as an ICE bike, but might be fun to rip around pretty stealth with Sumo parts.
Also light considering the Super73 and a Surron, but i know those are more geared toward the bicycle scene.

Surron looks very cheap tbh

Rather go with the ktm freeride if u gunna get something get the best
Exactly what I’m leaning towards. I still have all of my super moto bits now that should be plug and play at this time. I’m just wondering about the longevity of the bike and the long term consumables, mainly the battery. I know the Surron is 5k up front, but to even make it a competitor with modern XC bikes you gotta drop another 5k on parts.
What draws me in is the lack of maintenance needed to run the machine, as all the high end bikes I’ve owned require either a lot of time and knowledge, or money to pay someone with the time and knowledge.

That’s what scares me off about the 450s. I don’t have time for that. My wife got a job at bmw/Ducati motorcycles though so I can use their shop they said or they can do work on the side for me.

A two stroke I could rebuild in the winter and a dual sport makes no power but I only have to change the oil.

an electric bike would be sick. You could go all sorts of places you shouldn’t go around here but no one could hear you so f it.

get a japanese 450

know dudes with crf 450Ls who have like 100-200 hours only doing oil changes no valve adjustment or rebuild
