YO! Im currently in my 13th year of working in education. I have a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and Masters in Special Education.

Im doing a career switch to EDTech.

Any suggestions/tips for me making that switch?

Has anyone else done a career switch after being in a career for an extended period of time?

I'm in the tech space, and have been for the last ~12ish years. I've never changed careers, though my growth has been slightly nuanced within what I went to school for.

Similarly, I'd say for you; it should be an easy jump. Most people in the tech world don't have a background in the industry that the software company that they work for, they know technology not the users it serves. So for you, having that is a big plus. I'd say go for it. Look up a bunch of Ed Tech companies and see what job positions you want, then look into the requirements that it needs. If there are things on their that you don't have, then look at what the position below it is and see if you qualify for that. Dependent on how much bread you're making now, it might not be too much of a step backwards in pay/lifestyle, but if you're ok for a short term lowball for a long term gain, you'll be good.

Best of luck!
