true but the teachings in itself, many of the passages have contradictions do they not? So a book with several contradictions, being studied by people who contradict themselves somehow equates to a universal truth?
many that predate the earliest known versions of the bible that are still etched in the tombs and walls of many places in africa.... and they still are there. Not to mention the stories in the Bible that are direct copies of stories recorded in the writings of other cultures.

I have a problem with both. Wish more people would stand on both sides of an inconsistency instead of excusing one because they have no problem with another. If the founders of Scientology can fund whatever they want and be tax free, then I have no problem with Brother Dollar getting his.
Christians that view Scientologists as crazies are my favorite. As if Scientology is more fantastical than any other religion.

"Man, those people were crazy with what they believed. "
It's not our job to "disprove" religion. The burden of proof is on the person making the initial, positive claim.HilariousChristians that view Scientologists as crazies are my favorite. As if Scientology is more fantastical than any other religion. It's only crazy if you're looking from the outsize of both religions. It makes complete sense for them to scoff at each other if they truly believe what they're practicing.Or make fun of ancient mythologies.Christians that view Scientologists as crazies are my favorite. As if Scientology is more fantastical than any other religion.
"Man, those people were crazy with what they believed."
What's even more funny is people like you guys who laugh at them laughing at each other as if you have the answers and know some supreme mathematics that can prove either of them 100% wrong. And I mean wrong in every possible way, dispelling any possible esoterics/metaphors/coded language/poorly translated concepts that are part of these religions.
Neither can either be proven nor disproven.
So who gets to laugh now?
at least scientologists formulated and came to their beliefs on their own, for as crazy as many may think their belief system is, they came up with it themselves.... which is far more respectable..... then being stripped, herding and shackled like livestock, jammed and crammed into the lower cellars of a boat, raped, endure beatings, being demoralized, degraded, and dehumanized, enslaved, and conditioned and trained to follow a certain belief system.

I laugh at how one set of people with an unproven set of beliefs can laugh at another group of people who have an unproven set of beliefs.
"Well don't you have a set of unproven beliefs?"
No, I don't.
I believe in what has been proven, and for what hasn't been proven, I believe that I don't know the answer.
That was adorable, though. Please go on.
The world was never flat. It was just a false belief that a lot of people held.
That's not really the best example to use in defense of religion.
I'm only speaking for myself, but I repeat: I scoff at those who scoff at those who have different beliefs than their own.to laugh at one's beliefs without being grounded in your own is foolish. What do you consider facts?
Say we're back to a time thousands of years before daVinci. The world was once flat and the Earth sat at the center of the universe.
My point exactly...
