1st, I hope you're only thinking about getting episodes 4-6. We all know those are the only movies that matter.

2nd, Amazon's ******ed and combines all reviews from all formats into one. So when you're looking at the Blu Ray page, you're also reading DVD reviews. After going through the first page of reviews, I only saw one negative review (which was centered around Lucas and Co.'s changed to the films, not the actual quality).

Now, lastly, buy them. It's that simple

As far as AHS goes, I hope they at least keep that devil kid's story going somewhere next season. Like at least some references here and there.

I was always like two or three episodes behind you guys on AHS, but I did get get put on to it because of y'all. Watched the season finale earlier today and the second to last episode last night.

Good show, but like Kev said, it was more amusing than dramatic or scary whatever they were going for. Probably won't get into season 2. Might watch the season premiere, whenever that is, just to see where it goes.

I just wonder what "horror" will come next if it isn't a certainty that ghosts and haunted houses remain the focus. Aliens, zombies, witches, cults, cannibals, inbreds... who knows. A lot of those seem almost impossible to pull off on a television series.

Anyway, seeing that trailer for The Raven kind of reinvigorated my interest in Poe, so I bought an 842-page collection on Amazon for $7.

AHS sucks.

I'm about caught up on Homeland... Diggin it.

About to start Mad Men over the weekend. Either that or catch up on the load of movies I've bought since Black Friday and haven't gotten around to watching yet.

I keep wanting to shout Homeland's name from the rooftops, but I seen every season of 24 ... ain't tryin to jynx it.

That said.
Absolutely amazing. Claire Danes is taking that Emmy easy.
Just think about every step of the character she had to play broken down every 2 episodes...and she sold every damn bit of it.
Damian Lewis...was my dude from Life and Band of Brothers, but Charlie Crews...Winters...they're forgotten...Brody.
Brody at the funeral, Brody with his wife the first time, Brody at Gettysburg.
The finale
eek.gif
the Gettysburg ep, the cabin ep, the stakeout eps, Saul, Virgil, everything.
Morena Baccarin
devil.gif
even the son and daughter who I expected to hate outdid the Good Wife kids.
The Muslim guy and his American wife...
But that finale...that finale was so damn measured and well done. From the cold opening, I knew they weren't gonna let me down (Sons of Anarchy)
I was ready for them to mess it up The Killing style, but they didn't.
When Breaking Bad ended Homeland became the best show on television to me.

mibad, I meant oh you watch Homeland...nice.

I can't tell you how much I loved Crazy, Stupid, Love. I'll post on it more when I'm not on my phone.

Saw Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, too.

Just finished... I watched the whole season in 3 days.
laugh.gif
really, really good show. Love it. That finale.

Dammit that was awesome.

Claire Danes is SPECTACULAR. My goodness. The breakdown was flawless. She sold each and every little emotional twist and turn seamlessly. Great. That's the deepest, most complex female character I've seen on TV in awhile. Brody was such a great damn character too. So well written and executed from pilot through finale.

Gotta catch the Simmons podcast tomorrow and see what he thought. This has definitely vaulted up my TV Power Rankings.

Is Homeland on demand for Comcast? I aint tryin to download anything.

Also, the finale of The League

Rafi always steals the show.

"Rafi what are you listening to in your car?!"
"I'm listening to an audio recording of a slaughterhouse!"

Crazy Stupid Love... a chick flick that I can get down with.

This movie was GREAT. Directed by Ficarra and Requa, these guys are on route to making a name for themselves in the directorial department. They first debuted with I Love You, Phillip Morris which was given positive reviews, and now this

. Up until Phillip Morris they had only written comedies, such as Bad Santa. The entire movie flowed so well, the acting, the storyline, the pace, as well as the ending. Gosling was terrific as was Carrell, and you could EASILY see right away both had comedic chemistry on the screen

. The film was what you call "a star-studded cast" with Emma Stone, Julianne Moore, Marisa Tomei, Kevin Bacon, etc.... which really says a lot for Ficarra and Requa that they were able to get not just one... or even two (which would be impressive in itself) but MANY well known actors and actresses in one of their debut films.

I feel like I should have seen the twist coming, but somehow I didn't.

The scene where Carrell is in the yard and his ex-wife calls him from the den saying she needed assistance fixing the pilot light was excellent. The bit with the New Balance sneakers, Stone and Gosling back at the house, and many others all were hilarious.

The whole daughter taking pictures for Steve Carrell and Carrell interrupting his son's speech was weird. Those were a couple of the things I could have done away with in the movie.

The thing I liked most about it was that it seemed there were so many characters, and EVERY one of them had their own storyline, yet it worked. Usually when films are like that, there's too much of a "bounce around" effect and you don't really feel like you're centering in on ANY characters just carefully touching the brim of each (example, Contagion). This movie was the exception in that regard.

Loved it.

That makes two of us.  And after I am Sam, no matter what he's in, I can't help but see him as at least partially ******ed.  Except if I re-watch Fast Times.  Spiccolli will always be that dude.

As for the Star Wars blu-rays, they'll never give us an elite, top-of-the-line set with every single tidbit ever released pertaining to Star Wars like they did with Lord of the Rings. What there is, it's good. I was actually digging through some of the extras on the blu-ray set (I got the Complete series), it was pretty fun, though a lot of it is stuff produced in the 80s.

Be warned, if you get 4-6, don't hope for any extras. You won't get any outside of commentaries I believe. The extras are on separate discs only in the Complete Series set.

I think it's worth it, because of how good the older movies look. They don't look absolutely amazing, and IV is a bit eh, but 3, 5, and 6 all look very good.

If you don't care about extras, get the 4-6 set. If you do, drop the extra cash to get the Complete Series. It's a nice little set.

I liked it a lot too, Kev... Really solid.

Just finished Warrior. Good stuff. Can't complain too much about a repackaged version of The Fighter, right?

I liked The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, but man that one scene just disturbed me and made me almost not enjoy the rest of the movie.

^ I think I know what scene you're talking about. I've only watched the foreign version, which was

, but that scene made my skin crawl.

Was it me or did those scenes seem more brutal in this version? I was kind of surprised how far Fincher really pushed the envelope there.

Been avoiding this thread cuz I knew u guys would talk about AHS and I needed to catch up. Pretty damn good. Wonder where they go. It should probably just be a mini series but whatever

I'm 3/4 done with the thirds game of thrones book and this is #*%@*+* ridiculous. The best one for sure. Some very messed up parts

Been watching re runs of 30 rock it's one of my favorite shows. I need it back

Trying to figure out where they could possibly go with season 2.

Do they continue with the Harmons protecting future owners of the house by scaring the %!#! outta them or focus more on psychotic, antichrist baby?
You can find out here but it contains some spoilers. http://www.tvline.com/201...story-season-2-spoilers/

   Appreciate the link.

This has the potential to be pretty good or really bad, I'm leaning more towards the latter.

Anyone here following Person of Interest? The series has been solid thus far and the last episode before the break was pretty good. It's not the type of series where it's imperative to watch the previous episodes, so I recommend checking it out.

I can watch Rise of the Planet of the Apes without remembering the original Apes movies and not having seen the Wahlberg remake, right?

Yeah.

That was pretty awesome.

Sequel on the way, and there was an alternate ending that they changed after filming was complete and only 30 days before the theatrical release date, but I'm sure you guys already talked about all that. I'm always late to the party. Looking forward to the next one, though.

Oh, and Freida Pinto... wow.

Watching The Debt right now... Anyone check that out?

I'm surprised no one's asked this yet (unless I missed it), what's everyone's favorite Christmas movie?

Mine is 'Die Hard'
