When I was a kid I loved Home Alone 1&2, and Jingle All The Way for some reason

I have a soft sport in my heart for Jingle All The Way, solely because it was filmed in Minneapolis and I've been to every spot shown.

CP add Warrior, 50/50, The Debt, Crazy Stupid Love, Water For Elephants, and Sherlock Holmes 2 to my list.

Happy Holidays, pals.

I watched two more nice indies on some Encore channel late last night. They really churn those out in the wee hours.

The Disappearance of Alice Creed (81% from 89 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes)
Two men fortify a nondescript British apartment so it can serve as a prison, and then kidnap a woman and tie her to a bed.
Three characters, one location for about 94% of the movie and a number of intense twists and turns along the way. Incredibly acted.

Addicted to Her Love (60% from just five reviews)
Love, sex and drugs fuel this story of a group of recent high school grads whose circle is disrupted by the arrival of a stranger and an intense love triangle.
Sounds pretty cliche, but the dialogue, acting and movie as a whole were not that of a typical teen drama. Not great, but a lot better than I expected.

Recommend both if you ever catch them on; Alice Creed if you have to pick one.

The one movie I got this year was Just Go With It

My brother got it for me as sort of an inside joke. He lives in another state so we don't see each other often, and we happened to watch that movie on a whim last time we saw each other so that gave me a nice chuckle.

Merry Christmas, everyone.

People don't even bother buyin me movies, I have too many. I always get Best Buy gift cards and take care of myself. $250 this year.

I just saw The Debt and Terri.
The Debt had a solid story and very good acting (Helen Mirren, Jessica Chastain, Jesper Christensen, Sam Worthington), but it's not exactly something I highly recommend for the casual viewer. If you're into spy films though, it's definitely worth giving a look.

Terri, if you haven't heard about it, is an independent film about a high school kid "w/ issues." I really can't give it a rating (if I did, it would be below a 5) because it's just not the type of film for me. It was highly praised at Sundance (and I believe SXSW) if that's worth anything.

And has anyone had a chance to watch Shame yet? It stars Michael Fassbender & Carey Mulligan. I'm probably moving back to L.A. next month, and if it's still showing at the Arclight, it's gonna be one of the first things I catch.

Here's the trailer for it.

Anyone own the Cowboy Bebop series DVD set? Any good? Or anyone have any info on a Blu Ray release? I'm not too hot on dropping $33 for a DVD set if there's a BR in the works, but if there isn't I might bite the bullet and just get the DVDs.

I got it on DVD somewhere. Love it. It's amazing. Every episode has so much style and texture and good music to it. Don't remember too many features, but as far as the episodes go...I don't see what a BluRay would really improve, because it's kinda old now, but the show itself. Give it 3 episodes and that's it, you're watching all of it. It's like if Tarantino tried to make his own Firefly.

and suddenly I gotta check for Shame...friend of mine finally got me to agree to watch Dr. Who cuz apparently the best episode ever is all about Carey Mulligan.

show still looks full ****** british chick nonsense though.

Oh, yeah, no I meant is the quality of the DVD good or is it trash. I know the show's good, it's my favorite anime ever and among my favorite TV shows ever. But yeah, I think I'll cop it soon.

I gave in and picked up The Hunger Games. Decent so far. I totally expect Jennifer Lawrence to kill the role.

I read the first chapter back in the summer and put it down. I'll probably jump back into it closer to the movie's release.

CP edit my list!
