Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Checked out Shin Godzilla over the weekend 4.5/8 decent effects and some awesome looking powers for the monster but there was an insane amount of talking and political delegating that just dragged.

See, that's the thing. There are so many of you that have movie opinions I really respect, like a lot.

And then you'll post something about watching a movie like Sausage Party, and I'm like, "Why... would you... even attempt that?"

You have a refined taste in movies. How are you seeing the trailer for that garbage and thinking "Oh yeah, that's gonna be good. Worth the money"?

Like, no.

For me it was I liked the premise a lot and I liked the writers behind it as well as the actors. So it seemed like a slam dunk, but it was far more juvenile than I could have predicted. I knew it would be a movie filled with cursing and lewd jokes, but they just weren't funny jokes at all. I'm fine with profanity, but it was so over the type and gross that it took me out of the movie.

I agree with this 100%.

I love most of Rogen's films, so the sense of humor isnt an issue. The jokes are usually inappropriate yet still funny, usually.

But most of the **** in sausage party was way over the top, especially that final sex scene with all the foods banging each other.
**** wasnt even remotely funny. Was very uncomfortable to watch and If i was watching it by myself i would of left the theater right then and there, being 100% honest.

I wanted the movie to be over so I could leave and go home the entire time. Very bad movie going experience and Ive seen a lot of crap movies, but this experience will always stand out to me as one of the worst and most anxiety filled. Hated the whole 2 hours i was in that theater. :smh:

I haven't seen sausage party. I haven't seen a Rogen movie I didn't like (haven't seen neighbors, or funny people)

In terms of lewd, over the top/innappropriate jokes, where does Team America rank for you? Is it comparable to sausage party in offensiveness? Is it more or less well done?

I'm trying to gauge whether I'm gonna watch or not

anybody got character actors they always  at ..

for me

400

400

400

i honestly would love to watch a louie/curb type show with these three playing themselves and being best friends randomly

There are so many stock characters I love out there.

Of course most of them I don't know their names  Like the first guy you posted, that guy is great. Dope voice for certain situations. No clue on his name.

Have not seen Team America so I cant compare.

But its pretty simple honestly, this isnt really a SPOILER to me but i guess it can be so ill be safe to not piss off any of the homies...

*possible SPOILER WARNING*

It really comes down to, would you find it humorous to see animated hot dogs, chips, slices of bread jumping on each other and humping each other with pornographic language and moaning being spewed by each animated food item.

If you think seeing that for 2 minutes straight sounds amusing or funny, then you'll like the movie.

I did not think it was even remotely amusing or funny, so i did not like the movie.

Team America was far better than Sausage Party. Sausage Party had it's moments for me but they were pretty simple race and sex jokes, nothing special. I wouldn't watch it again, personally.

Sausage Party was great. If you've been on the fence about checking it out just do it. Its a movie that knows exactly what it is and they don't hold back at all.

Sounds pretty disturbing though

Just finished black mirror.. really interesting

Obviously some episodes were better than others.. but some really thought provoking stuff

Sausage party was hilarious. They threw joke after joke. It was brilliant how the theme was on religions and beliefs disguised as a raunchy comedy.

for those who have seen the 3rd season of black mirror, I think they screwed up the ending of the 'san junipero' episode:
I get going with the happy ending.. but that was easy.. and the series has never gone with the easy happy ending..

I think the right ending would have been for Kelly to pass on and hope that her husband was right..

then if they wanted to give hope to yorkie, have her meet someone.. but legit let them actually seem like they are getting to know one another so she doesn't end up in the same situation as what happen with her and Kelly where she just jumped and assumed without actually knowing

Haven't heard anything really about Divorce. May check out an episode or two today to see what it's all about since i'm paying for HBO again

I really liked Neighbors, and This is the End.

But I draw the line at sausage party. From the jump the whole premise was :x to me
