Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

The entire series aired like a month or 2 ago in England.

I've been sitting on all 6 eps until somebody in here reminded me of it. Think it was Noskey? JPZ? :nerd:
Not I. I still havent watched any Night Manager, but want to. Might binge watch if it's only 6 eps long.

Joe Pesci turns down Martin Scorsese's 'The Irishman'

According to THR, Joe Pesci has reportedly turned down Scorsese’s offer for a role in the movie. Pesci has pretty much hung up his hat from acting, and hasn’t appeared in a film since 2010’s “Love Ranch,” directed by Taylor Hackford. And Scorsese isn’t the only offer that has come knocking on Pesci’s door.

Last month Louis C.K. revealed he approached Pesci for “Horace and Pete,” and not only did he turn him down, but offered some stinging criticism (“I watched your stand-up, which I can tell you’re just trying, and you’re no good at it…quit that now”).

Can “The Irishamn” be made without Pesci? Definitely, but you have to bet that part of the reason STX plunked down $50 million was the allure of having the movie that would bring back the trio behind “Goodfellas,” “Casino,” and “Raging Bull.” Not to mention it makes marketing a slam dunk as well.

Sources say Pesci, who largely has retired from the film business, repeatedly has told Scorsese no, but the director remains hopeful that he can lure back his Goodfellas star.

Damn :frown:

So glad this project is finally happening though. Feel like we been hearing about it for the last ten years

Can Scorsese offer him enough $$$ to return?

A total Pesci thing to do to tell C.K he isn't funny and should quit comedy

I won't be that mad if he isn't in the movie since he has been mostly retired for so long. Love Ranch was a good movie but I don't even know why he did it if he's done. It wasn't some amazing script. I can only assume he did it to work with Helen Mirren and/or a payday.

I'm way more interested in Pacino working with Marty even though Al ain't in his prime.

So how many rehashes are gonna be on TV?

- Rush Hour (cancelled)

- Star Trek

- Training Day

- Lethal Weapon

They're running out of ideas, right?

Star Trek isn't a rehash. It was always a television series first.

One of the longest running ones at that.

That Training Day trailer did not look good. No chemistry between Paxton and the other guy like I don't sense that same tenseness. **** just seem awkward. @ the end with I'm gonna train him.

The concept of corrupt guy teams up with naive young good guy is pretty timeless and making that premise of an ongoing show should be easy to make great. Of course you gotta get the right cast and writers in place.

Almost wish all of these movies turned tv shows were on the same networks I could avoid the majority

Then there's this

 :smh: :x Immediately not digging the kid playing MacGuyver.

CBS really think they're doing it
Also, has there ever been a successful TV show that was adapted from a movie?
Straight up adaptions?

Mission: Impossible
Charlie's Angels
The Fugitive
21 Jump Street (which only takes the bare bones premise of the show and is nothing like it)
The A-Team
The Man From U.N.C.L.E.
Addams Family
The Singing Detective
The Avengers (this is about British spies not the comic, a husband and wife or something)
Car 54, Where Are You?
Dragnet
The Equalizer
Get Smart
Miami Vice
The Mod Squad
S.W.A.T.

It's funny I'm naming a lot of 60s, 70s and even 80s classic tv shows that are all procedurals for the most part dealing with spies/secret or gov agents/cops. I notice most ppl don't realize the whole tv show to movie has been Hollywood's go to for some studios.

Either it becomes forgettable or you get something like Cruise completely overshadowing the franchise.

Forgot you said successful. There are some clear successes in that list but others I aint sure about. Did Miami Vice with Foxx and Colin flop? I recall CA getting 3 movies right?

Nice Guys is at 97% on Rotten Tomatoes.

I was going to see it regardless, but I'm glad to see the high reviews and hopefully it does well at the box office.

I'm a Shane Black fan so I'm rooting for this movie.

I can't wait to see PopStar

"Every since I was born, I was dope (as he shoots the ball turns around and throws his hands up like he made it as the ball hits the fence)"
