I prefer the nubuck Toe. If they were to drop today, the nubuck Toe would be thicker than the durabuck one. The nubuck shoes I’ve had(Flu game 12, Varsity 6, 2014 Infrared 6) had all have thick nubuck that creases less and doesn’t peel like nubuck. As I said, it’s a personal preference thing.

why? 2002 pair is as fragile as can be...these kicks are to be worn, and u get that crappy material stepped on and its a reynolds. 2012 pair stays that good looking forever.

02's and 12's are both realllly nice to me. I loved the all black look-its the only time I don't mind.. I don't like it on VI's though. And the 02 was pretty much perfect but like ninjahood said, they were fragile af and faded badly. I have the 2012's and don't see myself buying another retro. I HATED the DMP.. that wasnt charcoal that was straight up grey.

And if they retro the XI IE one more time with the EP and stupid black sole.. Im going to lose it

i don't believe that, metallic V's shot that logic up when they remastered em with a good grain of durabuck last year, and dumped da crappy ashy larry nubuck/suede from 2011.

I'm a fan of the shape as well. That's why I picked up an 02 pair over the 12s last year, hate the shape of the 12s. Also prefer the 2tone look. I saw a DS OG pair for $400 on ebay some months back but wasn't sure if they were wearable, didn't wanna risk it.

hell naw, i bought both 2002 & 2012 DS and in telling you right now i wouldn't waste my time with da 2002 pair...they scuff waaaaaaaaaay too easy, they absorb water/dirt way too easy.. da shape isn't even 92' standards.

this is what 2002 pairs look like when actually start wearing em....

they basically beaters, and it happens in record time.

GS pairs/preschool and infant sizes were all completely durabuck and maintained a uniform black look in 2002 which da 2012 adult pairs adopted and made em absolutely better lookin.

and as a testament to how good longer 2012 pairs last...

here's a cooked pair of 2012.. absolutely no fading whatsoever.

I almost agree with this. But the 2009 is dope. And still a very comfortable shoe. Not a train wreck at all. And why is someone that knows this much about original 7s calling them "raptors"?.

Besides the grey contrast, what makes them so bad. Because the red, purple glossy peaks are the same. Do you have these? Have you worn these? On the DMP, the dark grey on the tongue is correct, along with the outsole. Something that cannot be said about the 2012.

I forgot to mention, wasn’t on NT where multiple people mentioned their Met 5s came creased on the right foot? My pair had a crease right out of the store lol.

I prefer the contrast upper because it breaks the shoe up in a way. Same goes for the Infrared 6 and the Playoff 8. Some pairs fade overtime, some don’t. If you go on eBay right now, there’s a ton of DS 2002 pairs that haven’t faded as well as trashed pairs that haven’t faded. If they use the nubuck they’ve been using on retros like the flu game 12 or varsity red 6, it won’t fade as fast. I’m sure the next retro will use the contrast upper and will most likely look like the 1992 or 2002. The 2009 is a vintage take, while the 2012 is a simple take on the silhouette.

Im assuming the last pics are a diff between the 09 to the 2012 as far as the outsole goes. The 2012 does have the original look. The DMP has an aged original look. There is nothing wrong with either one. At all.

naw, V,VI,VII,VIII look best as all durabuck as seen on black metallic V's, infrared VI's, playoffs/bred 8's, and those 2012 raptors.
