Official Umar Johnson Thread

Numbers aside, that was a very astute statement about people worshipping material goods bc they don't see themselves as valuable.

I love that message, but I'm just curious how we know that specifically black people spent that much. Pj Tucker probably accounted for half a mil himself. Are mixed people accounted for?

No one records your race when you buy Jordans. The notion of that stat being kept is ludicrous.

But you dont see how sinister this type of speak is? He can throw out complete bs then put in a statement you agree with then all of a sudden the bs is disregarded.

Some folks just have a thing for self deprecation porn. "We not doing this, we not doing that" really gets them off. I feel if you really consider yourself a progressive or prophet you don't waste time in the weeds about what we're not doing. Especially when it's made up.

The Mercedes stat I doubt but the point he's making is true, stats aside

It's crazy the infatuation within the community of these designer clothing brands like Gucci, LV etc

Black folk need to understand that at its core it's nothing more than the transfer of capital/wealth. Busting your butt at a 9-5 just to piss it off on some overpriced goods.

Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy knows what they are doing and intentionally target the black audience because that is the foundation on which their wealth is built on. They purposefully used Nas to advertise Hennessy, put Virgil in that position at LV

Folks gotta wake up. These is just modern day slavery in a different form :smh:

They need Dr Umar in South Africa. They didn't get the Afrocentric memo from the most influential black figure in the world

/s

This is why I maintain that some of the things the man says are very problematic; xenophobia is far from being a white/black affair only.

I don't think Ooomar has anything to offer people who had Nelson Mandela.
