Official Umar Johnson Thread

Who is suggesting it is?

I think you are saying that since white people were oppressive, the image of a white skinned jesus is problematic for some. With the only apparent correlation being skin color.

I'm not saying you or anyone else necessarily believes skin color is indicative of bad behavior on a day to day basis, its just a convenient excuse to take shots at religion.

In any event, the value of the message has nothing to do with fictional depictions. Baby with the bathwater....Forest fore the trees...

Nah.

I am saying that since White is associated with superiority, The idea of Jesus being white just further supports the idea of white being superior. (Since Jesus is the human incarnation of the Supreme Being)

Offense meets Defense

Same jersey

Dope!

Offense - Yeah I know the concept of "whiteness" is a lie,

Defense - but a lie too dangerous to ignore.

While its true that White people weaponized religion to serve their purpose, White people in fact do not own said religion.

The true origins of what we call Christianity go back MUCH further...like you said.

Why throw the baby out with the bathwater when there's a perfectly good drain?

I understand everything you're saying but context is important.

The whole Bible is trash because White people, White peopled? Word?

Why give them so much power when you obviously know the truth?

I prefer Big Mama Thornton to Elvis Presley - but a Hound Dog is still a Hound Dog .

The truth is the truth no matter who tellin' it / "imagery".

Gotta focus on the message, not the person / people.

People will always be flawed in some fashion, its the message that's important.

The penchant for ad hominem is really strong with you for some reason...well with everyone but Black women of course.

Kevin Samuels

"White" Jesus

Gotta work on that Fam.
The bible is one big lie, word to LILLITH.

Please allow me to hip you, pull your coat to something. I am going to recommend this book to you, it's called Wise Blood by Flannery O'Connor. Have you read it?

Here is a clip that should draw your attention. Jesus is a trick on the !#%*(('s.

I hope that you pick it up.

Again, sin? Does not exist.

I don't think the Bible was intended to be treated like a history book.

I look at it completely different personally.

Sorta like the Three Little Pigs is a lie if you want to say that.

The lesson is the focus...not so much the talking pigs.

Allegory:

As a literary device, an allegory is a narrative in which a character, place, or event is used to deliver a broader message about real-world issues and occurrences.

A story, poem, or picture that can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning, typically a moral or political one.

That's the excuse given, up until people begin to discuss women's rights, and for a few hundred years, chattel slavery.

Right. The premise being that skin color dictates character (superiority).

Maybe this is why muslims dont want mohammed depicted at all, easy to let human bias cloud peoples judgement.

Oh most definitely.

History itself supports your statement.

Undeniable.

At that point Religion is a tool of an oppressor.

Anything can turned into the tool of an oppressor, not just Religion.

Yet the abolitionists used the very same book to support their viewpoints.

Do you believe that the absence of an authoritative religious text would have prevented and/or lessened the oppressors desire to oppress?

The abolitionists used the very same book to contradict slavery, yet in the same breath were still considering women as second class citizens.

The problem is that the bible starts off telling a blatant lie about yaweh making eve from adam's rib, a trick that he hasn't repeated since.

Here's my question about authoritative text, when was the last time Yaweh wrote something down himself?

Just peeped some of the Umar/Roland Martin joint. I like Roland, but that was a terrible cast he had up there. That lady and the Republican dude some bozos.

Umar composure in this junt >>>>>

So how is that school working out for Umar? Last I heard he was trying to make the rest of the money by gambling in a casino. Did he hit it big?

I figured Johnson was just joking about that but...

Not sure if this is just one mans opinion though.

I personally don't think Johnson is dumb enough to make videos of himself gambling with donations but why even give folks something to talk about?

Dude who made the video is a heavy Samuels supporter so there's that I guess.

Even after watching this fraud gamble away that donation money, people will still defend his bafoonery.
