OFFICIAL THE WIRE THREAD.. ''The game is the game"

I hated (moreso annoyed by) Ziggy and then at the very end I softened up. Fam wasn't built for none of this ****

Yea I was just gonna say, nobody gonna mention Ziggy? He was the worst… that cop is up there for runner up, but his role wasn’t very significant

Yea I hated Ziggy first time around but not this time. I kinda feel like Nick. I keep saying "C'mon Zig". Pitiful dude.

Ziggy was just annoying.

I hated the characters who had more of a negative impact on the system, kids, etc. than I did a weasel like Zig.

Ziggy pushed the boundaries of “annoying” all season but he crossed that line for me when he was burning $100 bills and ****, and then the shootout :{

Ziggy and Scott in the same boat to me, annoying as F

cheese was also annoying as hell

but the more I think about it the more I hate herc.. this dude even came to carver to try to talk him out of doing the right thing with that white cop who got got by the kids then snapped on the teacher

Hmm I never hated herc like that

I disliked Rhonda pearlman for being a h0e

girl would spread em for drunk mcnulty whenever he wanted then when Daniels wife was making her move, Rhonda sleeping with Daniels just seemed grimey and slutty… I know it was just as much Daniels decision as hers, but probably the way mcnulty used to hit it and she jumped to Daniels made her more at fault to me, portraying her as a h0e and homewrecker. Maybe illogical, idk.

Prez character trajectory was interesting - he went from a dumbass, incompetent, D bag then he killed the cop and crossed into a total POS and I didn’t care about his remorse at first. Then he totally rebuilt his character and redeemed himself in s4. But if it wasn’t for s4 he was right there with Ziggy for most disliked/hated characters.

Prezbo’s evolution is one of my favorite parts of the show.
Duquan coming back and Prez knowing he’s trying to play him but still giving the cash anyway knowing he was a lost cause >>>

Colicchio another one who sucked.

When they drove the kids who wouldn't go to Hamsterdam out to the woods or threw their sneakers down the storm drain. Foul as hell

In between all that he did prove to be a good detective though. He was the one in the basement cracking the phone code and was sort of Lester's understudy.

But yeah his arc was pretty crazy. Definitely redeemed himself by placing himself in the hornet's nest at that school and sticking with it and even going above and beyond and seeing through all the systematic oppression.

yea you gotta give prez a little more credit..

he was a legit asset to major crimes after going under lester's wing.. and then he f'd up again, but it was a bad situation

and you see that man legit cared about those kids instead of just trying game the system or just collect a check

Prez turned out to be real po-lice, unfortunately he couldn’t get past being a house cat.

Just way too nervous & scared to ever be in the field. Had no business ever being armed.

He still ended up finding a way to serve the community.

His last scene with Duke was heartbreaking. He saw straight though Duke immediately before he said a word & still helped anyway, wanting his intuition to be wrong :frown:

Show was masterful with how they weaved people in & out. Will never get old.

Prez did some good work with Lester on the barksdale wire but overall he was a Jackass as a cop and what he did at the end was really low… but yea he fully redeemed himself as a teacher

I think Carver had the best glow up of all the characters.

i'm going with prez

where he was at the beginning.. and then turned into a legit asset to the department.. and then what he did with those kids

carver trusting herc with randy that late in the game is a major fumble to me.. if anyone should be well aware of just how little trust should be put in herc, it's carver

Still in season 2. Check back with this thread and see someone say they felt sorry for Ziggy. I was like yeah right because bruh was already annoying

How anyone could feel sorry for that idiot is beyond me

Yeah Ziggy deserved what he got and he was a try hard. The last scene where you knew he was already getting his *** beat and probably on his way to be someone's ***** in record time had me feeling a little bad manny.png

One of the best aspects of this show for me is looking at the show with a modern lenses and just seeing the methods the cops have to use to crack these cases.

**** makes me wonder if they could listen to ****** phones in the early 2000’s what can they do now when social media and advertisers can listen to your conversations :lol so let alone what the police can get access to with a warrant

Listening to the 2nd to last episode of way down in the hole podcast, on the final episode of the show and they make some great points
