I doubt it. The Barksdale org had deeper roots, so it probably resonated more behind the walls across generations. Marlo was relatively new to the game. Avon also had Bey with him (and Cutty for a time). Two legendary Henchmen. Additionally Avon's power still extended beyond the wall while he was locked up. When Marlo was stripped of his freedom Michael switched up, Snoop got clapped, Chris got locked up, Monk got locked up. At least Avon had his second in command on the street along with his sister and others until everything came to a head.
If anything they probably joined up
We did see Wee Bey and Chris seemingly hold court in the final montage. That could be a sign of their crews potentially squashing it.
