Official Schoolboy Q Oxymoron Thread, Releasing February 25th 2014

I listened to it at work and in the system in the way home. I like the album. Def can't compare it GKMC or anything though, but like said, it had that gritty/raw style to it.

2 different type's of rappers homie. There is no comparison. You'll like it though

:evil

Kendrick appears on both albums. Let's end the comparisons there :lol

Wait hold up,
View media item 816448you trying to play my boy Q? :lol

Need I remind you of the classic "yawk yawk yawk yawk" on the beat switch on maad city?

And Q wrote the words on Kendrick album. :hat

I didn't play him if I am bundled in with the assumption :lol

I was saying gritty/raw, more so with the beats and his overall sound/voice. Not like he is unpolished or something if that's what you thought. I like the album so far and sounds good in the whip.

i'm simply saying there's no need to compare them. it serves no purpose.

they are completely different, come from people with two different outlooks

on life and music.

and if i was playing Q a sound effect and handwriting was your defense? :rollin

It took me a while for Setbacks and Habits & Contradictions to click for me, so I expect the same with this.

Waiting 'til Tuesday.

After hearing every single track and really listening: This is easily equal to GKMC. Seriously. The production is on point and timeless, like, every track has a great unique sound that only gets better and never gets old. For Q not to be an amazing lyricist, he skated on most of these tracks, Blind Threats and Prescription/Oxymoron are instant classics. Even his more fun tracks like Los Awesome and Man of the Year have substance. There isn't one track on here that I can't mess wit except possibly Collard Greens and it's not even on instant skip status either.

Very impressed. Don't just listen once NT fam.

EDIT: Just realized that "**** LA", "Gravy" "His & Her Fiend" and "Grooveline Pt. 2" are actually out too

those missing songs to me suck balls.

that studio joint is so smooth though.

and i despise ish like future and this new RNB garbage.

bj the chicago kid on hooks is ill tho.

i guess theres a song  produced by clams casino thats missing.

I like it off of first couple of spins.
Couple things:

1. Bonus tracks suck. If you stop the album after MOY the album is way better. Less is more in this case

2. Yay Yay should be on the album no question.

3. Right now I like Habits & Contradictions better.

4. Beginning of the last verse of the song with 2 Chains, Q sounds like Soulo. I got hyped only to realize it was Q.

I JUST STOPPED SELLING CRACK TODAY... :x :x :x

2nd half of Prescription/Oxymoron is STOOOPID FILTHY. :x

I like it as first but was a little let down. A few more listens with headphones instead of speakers I am loving it.

I feel like I would have appreciate this album more if I didn't listen to all of the songs that released (i.e. Break the Bank, Man of the Year, Hell of a Night, Gangsta). Plus Collard Greens; that's 5 out of the 15 songs I've already listened to.

This album slaps. The goon music is to the max on this one.

Hell of a Night and Break the Bank still gives me chills.

HOW IS NOBODY FEELING THE BONUS TRACKS?

**** LA is grimey!!

Still wish those flying lotus tracks had made their way on this. Could have done without What they Want.
