If Mac is indeed Kyle's guy, then ShanaLynch will be majorly scrutinized (and rightfully so) for moving all the way up to 3. There is zero need to go that high to draft a guy who is slated to go much later than 3.

Id love to agree with you on number 2, but there are various respected NFL heads that think we are going for Jones (Maiocco, Lombardi, Simms, etc.)

Why give up all that to go up to 3, to draft a guy who will be there at 12? Worst case, we could have traded up to get him at 7-9... but 3!? Na.. no way.

Funny how we all talkin bout the mold of the QB of the future yet Brady, Foles, Flacco, Manning, Rodgers the ones who won Super Bowls over the last decade save for Mahomes and Wilson.

Why don't I think we need a QB who is a scrambler? Because we already got Mostert, Deebo, Hasty, Wilson, and Juice to wreak all kinds of havoc on the ground.

We need a QB who can distribute the rock all over the field with precision timing and accuracy on his passes. We need someone who has pocket presence and can maneuver in the pocket under pressure and still deliver the rock to Kittles, Deebo, Aiyuk when the play breaks down because all three of these guys will be open 100% of the time. In other words UTILIZE OUR WEAPONS. All of em. Just like Montana and Young did with Rice, Taylor, Craig, Watters, Jones, Rathman, and Floyd.

Zach Mahomes imo will be the best candidate to accomplish all of the above.

It’s not out of the ordinary for the 9ers to reach if they like their guy, so we can kill any of the they could have had Jones later.

They traded up and reached for Pettis among others. Having said this, this is a hell of a lot of capital to trade for somebody unless u have “the guy” already in mind.

This is the reason why I don’t believe it’s Zach Wilson. Even if Saleh said he’s not taking him, there’s still a month for someone to move ahead of u and select him. This looks like a guy they know would be there at 3 no matter what. The reports that they were trying to trade up with teams even after that is more of a case that it’s gonna be perhaps a bit of a reach.

Regardless, with this kind of capital I won’t be excited for anyone besides Watson or Wilson, but will trust the coaches and GM to make the selection they pick, since it’s clear they love their guy.

I don't know but I can also see a scenario where there's a three-team trade in which the centerpieces are NYJ getting Garoppolo, #3 pick, and Warner, Hou gets Darnold, #2 pick, player to be named, plus picks, 49ers end up getting Watson
