I would be more than happy if the niners brought back eric reid. My big concern with him was that towards the tail end of his tenure with the niners he was constantly out of position in coverage and would let the deep man slip behind him. Witherspoon seems to have taken a step back so far this season and unless he gets better at not biting on double moves or just getting simply out run by a faster receiver, I’d be apprehensive about reid constantly being the last stop gap. But i will say, his veteran presence would be good for the really young group of safeties niners have

I think the big problem of not having a big time edge rusher is rearing it's behind on this defense. Stafford in the 2nd half had some time to do work.

This. Nobody in the DL group is an edge rusher except for Marsh, who simply isn't a good player. Not sure why they didn't address this giant need. Harold Landry looked pretty sweet in his debut for the Titans.

No pass rush kills this defense. Zone defense doesn't work if the QB has all day. Receivers will find the soft spots.

damn i miss having aldon, ahmad, and cowboy. we were ******* spoiled.

unless solly takes some magic pill that makes him visible, Saleh can't keep rushing only four time and time again. maybe im trippin but the niners barely blitzed at all in the second half. maybe they were playing conservatively because of the lead but at this point, bring a fifth pass rusher more often and let witherspoon play softer coverage because he's gonna get exposed consistently. might as well take your chance and try to get home on the QB.

Solly is a very frustrating player to watch. He's playing a bit out of position because Defo takes up the majority of the interior 3tech snaps, but even when he does get action inside, he blows his opportunity. He took the guard's lunch money here and then whiffs on Stafford. I don't even talk about Armstead anymore because I think he's straight doo doo. I hated that pick the day it happened.

Harold Landry made his debut today. We could use this.

Oh, no doubt. I think McGlinchey is proving to be a great pick. I’m thinking that they could have offered a team a pick from next year to swoop Landry once he slid into the second.

Speakin of armstead, it’s year four and this dude still thinks that he can just bullrush his way thru the oLine. Linemen know it’s coming so they just push him off balance and neutralize him immediately. How many times do we gotta see linemen just push him outside into his own teammate, basically using his body as another blocker?
