Why do you think they would be angry? This is exactly what they want.

They do not believe in democracy nor its mechanisms.

I wish there was more of an effort to teach how the antebellum South practiced democracy. The vote was public, the landowners and their families were also candidates, and everybody knew who would win in advance and who wouldn't get the best choice of milk, meats, and veggies as the result of their vote.

That’s the southern tradition they want to bring back.

I make more money than I ever have but it doesn’t even matter and they aren’t about to be paying me 140 dollars an hour so I can live like the old timers did.

I've come a long way over the last 10 years...let alone 15, but hot damn if I still dont feel close to pulling off American expectations of yesteryear (1 income household that handles everything...new car every 3 to 5 years...annual vacations and saving for retirement)

My saving grace is we bought a house at the very bottom of our budget pre covid. If I had to move I’d be cooked.

Basically I’m never moving because f all that 500k min house stuff, I’ll just re model mine when it’s paid off and have the extra cash.

I do go on vacations though, but my cars are paid off and my kid is an adult. It wasn’t always like that.

It's called stagflation.

The price of things have gone up enough that people buy less which Means that companies cannot give higher raises.

The fact Trump keeps attacking Iran hides the fact we were tilting into stagflation to begin with.

This is what they probably thought they wanted but no way are they all cool with having to run every other year until they retire (or die) cause Graham’s sister took their spot. Especially behind closed doors.

The oligarchy fiefdom system of government probably seemed cool to all of them until they can't actually run for a open Senate seat because the president gave it to the deceased Senator’s sister.

I also don't think it works like it use to because once again they haven't got anywhere near the point of recreating the racial hierarchy they want and there are no jobs. Initially the plan was they fire people, and then were supposed to put federal agencies in the south and rehire MAGA and white poor people. However, the reality of what they did to cut taxes means there are no jobs for Trump to give people.
