***Official Political Discussion Thread***

I read your post and would offer up a suggestion.
THIS is an unequivocal condemnation.

The first part was just to directly answer the poster's question about my take on his thought process.

I don't mind your other edits. And I think it conveys the same points.

I'm going to step out of character for a second and give you some genuine advice assuming you are at all being sincere yourself.

Go take a communications class.

Just a couple quick observations: 1) Maybe in lawyerese saying 2 things that are technically and legally the same is cool, but in most human conversations every single word carries a meaning. The listener is constantly interpreting and judging you based on those details. 2) I was taught back in high school not to include weak phrases like "I think." You stand by what you say. When you hedge everything you say, it betrays weakness and doubt in your convictions.

I hedge the things said in here, intentionally, because my posts tend to get over-analyzed and if I don't offer any room, then people take that and run.

It is why I use words like "generally" and passive voice in here. When I talk in absolutes some random says "well that's not always true," etc.

It has been intentional.

But I did state that it was wrong unequivocally. That it shouldn't be used. And that I don't support it.

On those points there was no passive voice or hedging.

I agree with the substance of the changes made by stuntman mike stuntman mike and the fact that he only altered three words tends to show that I meant to convey the same concept in my opinion.

Re: speech class, I'm still taking a much-needed break from school

But maybe some day.

Since you're in here, how do you feel about the school choice initiatives under this administration?

@KHUFU

Anyone else can chime in too.

Maybe we can get some actual political discussion related to policies.

I'll bite since im tired of you tap dancing.

Here are the bottom 10 or so states in terms of educational rankings.

South Carolina - school choice
Oklahoma - school choice
Arkansas - school choice
Alaska - no school choice
Nevada - school choice
Oregon - no school choice
DC - school choice
Alabama - school choice
West Virginia - no school choice
Mississippi - school choice
Arizona - school choice
Louisiana - school choice
New Mexico - No school choice

Here are the top 10

Massachussetts - no school choice
New Jersey - no school choice
Connecticut - no school choice
Virginia - school choice
Vermont - no school choice
Minnesota - no school choice
New Hampshire - school choice
Nebraska - no school choice
North Dakota - no school choice
Wyoming - No school choice

Not exactly a ringing endorsement. Admittedly I don't know when states decided to adopt school choice policies. Seems like if you want ****** education you move to a red state. If you want good education you move to a blue state. Obviously this analysis is oversimplified.

I won't fact check all of this, but Massachusetts has school choice and they are number 1.

My question is more to the concept. Do you think it is a bad idea?

I admittedly used less than reputable sources for states with school choice with little or no background research AKA selected the first google results

https://www.edchoice.org/school-choice/school-choice-in-america/

But I think the idea of privatizing education, much like prisons and healthcare is a bad choice and will just lead to more expensive schooling and a lower quality of education while disproportionately affecting those in lower income communities. I would much rather we allocate some of the trillion dollars a year we spend on defense spending to schools with lower test scores.

Bc I wanna guarantee a win. We can be progressive in 2024.
Yeah I can't rock with this. It makes little sense politically for him to do this.

-He is already polling great with Midwestern whites relative to Hillary and Trump. Centrist people in that area already seem to like him. So a generic Midwestern white guy adds little to the ticket.

-The best choices from the Midwest are women (white ones). Governor of Michigan, Senator from Wisconsin

-The only Midwestern white man that would be a great choice would Sherrod Brown, but then the Dems would probably lose that Ohio Senate seat forever.

Biden needs to pick a woman first off. So unless he is picking Gretchen Whitmer to lock up Michigan (I really don't even 100% agree with this kind of think either), a black woman should be on the ticket all things considered.

On the flip side, even if Biden does pick a white person as a running mate, he would probably appoint and nominate qualified black women to way more high level government positions that Trump has.

So if he goes another way, no one should take Delk's pearl clutching seriously.

He holds Biden to a higher standards than Trump

Dr. Anthony Fauci says COVD-19 vaccine could be ready by the end of this year or early 2021; it’s ‘when and not if.’

Vaccine will make the masses even more ill. Don't wanna hear any platitudes .

Me and Rusty actual agree on something this election cycle

Yeah but you don't agree that much considering you already earmarked your vote for an old racist white guy who has another old racist white guy as his VP. So there is no difference between this president and all the previous presidents with the exception of my man Barry O. More old racist white guys in charge of something they probably shouldn't be.

Key excerpts of Zelinsky's opening statement. It sounds like tomorrow's hearing is going to be quite the circus.
