It's funny/sad how polarized this thread (and American politics as a whole) is. Partly it's because the focus on Drumpf has overwhelmed any rational political conversation. But it also reflects the well-documented surge in partisanship throughout this country over the past few decades, of which Drumpf and his supporters are a byproduct.

Instead of having nuanced conversations, everything is now black or white.

And I have a feeling the transition to the general election is not going to dampen Drumpf's extremism.

Comparing them to the tea party and supporting police brutality, is taking it too far. Just because a person is white and living in a big liberal city doesn't mean they're a liberal or progressive. 

NY is considered a liberal city but constantly votes in moderate republican mayors.
