You are clearly in here to defend the GOP. I know you will come with the "I'm a centrist act" but it is pretty clear what your goal is.
So the GOP, the party of voter:
-voter suppression (so no negative impacts with attacking the voting rights of minorities especially black people?)
-gerrymandering (so no negative impacts of our government not being representative?)
-refusing to hold even hearings on Garland (remember that? so no lasting impact of the Supreme Court not being a left center court instead of a right-wing one)
-and who elected a racist bigoted authoritarian that does respect political norms (no lasting impact to the president trying to obstruct justice so freely)

But honestly, the left/progressives don't have a leg to stand on with that issue because many of them are same ones that argued the Dems need to chill with the "identity politics". There isn't gonna be a resurgence of coal; there isn't gonna be an infrastructure plan. The tax cuts (mostly benefiting the wealthiest in the country) are creating a hole in the country's coffers that the GOP plans to cover with cuts in social services (makes zero sense in a growing economy). Wages have not gone up in a growing economy. Immigration reform seems to be "bar brown people with accents from entering, and throw out those who are already here, regardless of their contribution to the US." Civil Rights are being taken away. One party is openly beholden to foreign interests. Etc...
What Hillary can do for Gillum is explain to people why the path we're on is unsustainable if we are to remain a democracy and the land of opportunity.
