This is an interesting conversation between economist Noah Smith (he writes for Bloomberg, and is a left of center liberal) and Meagan Day (she writes for the Jacobin and is a socialist).
It is a pretty friendly conversation. Smith being an economist and wonk, he is more knowledgeable than Day, and he raises some very important questions and criticism about socialist in America.
To be honest, while I agree with ole girl's general position, she struggles many times to give solid answers to questions. But she touches on an important issue. There are a shortage of leftist wonks, and that needs to change as the movement expands

In some cases it might be easier to not have insurance and be broke. A while back I got let go right after getting out the hospital for a week's stay and was stressing how to pay this 4k bill and maintain. Luckily my sis was a nurse and told me that hospitals have financial assistance programs for folks in those situations so just reach out. They ended up waiving the bill.
