***Official Political Discussion Thread***

Can't make this up...

The rest of the thread is just as awesome. Here I was, thinking that political dynasties ala Clinton weren't good for the country and lo! Turns out that Murkowski (current) was appointed as replacement to her father by her ... father.

Boy, don't you love the stench of US democracy?

As an aside, Hatch and Murkowski Sr also voted against MLK day.

Nothing in what I posted suggested that systematic barriers don't exist for minorities. Reading comprehension is important. I, like you, used a metaphor. My point--which I thought was quite clear--was that we are not limited to trying to fix the system. Instead, creating new systems is an option. For instance, the NFL. Instead of convincing owners to respect the players, a league like Ball's could work. It seemed easy to grasp to me. But I do realize that people operate at different speeds.
Just when I thought you could not make an even more asinine point. You prove me wrong.

Congrats.

Certainly wouldn't want to get deluged with opinions that are any different than your own.
I have a subscription to the National Review, I read the Atlantic, Brooks, Will, and Sullivan. I'm fine with listening to right-wing arguments.

It is buffoonery, bigotry and white nationalism I have no time for; that is why I have no respect for what you post in here. Run along now, your fries are probably burning

https://www.militarytimes.com/news/...ate-advances-674-billion-defense-budget-bill/

Largest budget since the peak of the Iraq War

No democrats voted "no" on giving the Trump admin a larger military budget

7 no's: Paul, Sasse, Lee, Toomey, Perdue, Flake and Sanders
The article is kinda misleading.

They voted on a compromise short term spending bill.

The consequences of this bill not passing wasn't just Trump not getting a bigger military. The government would **** down.
