It is.

Are you referencing this because of the Alex Jones situation? Do you believe in full freedom of speech and expression?

No, I was referencing Cody Wilson. I do believe, strongly, in the freedom of speech. The Alex Jones situation is about private companies restricting speech. I don't see anything wrong with that. I take issue when the government does it.

I see. Solely speech or do you support expressive freedoms also? Are you familiar with New York v Ferber?

What the hell content does he have on youporn?

You'd be surprised. There's some UK drill artists whose videos have been banned overseas that have their stuff up on PH now.

The nba commisioner has always seemed pretty scummy to me. He has to pay a lot of lip sevice due to a powerful players association. Who knows how much of what he says, he may actually believe.

You'd have to be more specific regarding expressive freedoms. I just read a case summary of New York v Ferber. I agree with the Court's reasoning in that case.

And, in this thread understanding "context" general falls along party lines

Whether people agree with you or not does, sure. Context doesn’t. If you’re one that tends to be out of pocket, antagonizing, and intellectually dishonest you’re asking a lot of people to determine when you’re being serious and when you’re not.

This thread is absolutely an echo chamber, but that’s not by design. It’s because when challenged, a high percentage of the conservative posters that have come in here have eventually shown that their “conservative” views stem from ignorance and bigotry. Only a matter of time until they get so out pocket they end up banned. Word to @blco2

Bigotry is awful. It is possible to be conservative and not be a bigot. It might be helpful to meet ignorance with snark-less explanations. But that is only if the goal is actually "discussion."

Depends on what you consider being “conservative”. I think a lot of people in this thread will agree that if someone still considers them selves conservative in today political climate, they may not be bigoted themselves but at the very least they’re okay with bigotry sweeping political offices and main stream politics for their own personal gains. Which to me doesn’t really make a difference since they both give bigoted people political power and influence.

I was just lost because I laughed at a conspiracy theory posted on the Political discussion thread.... Your response was a movie clip saying "it's over." I assumed you were saying something other than the movie was over. I gave you too much credit. My mistake.

Feels good to be back. How has the echo chamber been?
Same as usual. The conservative posters refusing to argue in good faith. For what it's worth I don't mind arguing with you, though I think you're often just trolling.
I'm always open to argue in a cordial manner with you and the other 2 conservative posters but Inthehallway will just dodge any serious discussion. Hardly ever responds to any of my questions or arguments if they're refuting his and if he does it's just to deflect or answer very selectively.
Though I guess it's just one other conservative not including yourself now as UnicornHunter managed to get himself banned.

UnicornHunter scammed an NTer for $700 and it was revealed he had been lying about his profession, income, ... etc. in this thread.
He joins what has become a lenthy list of almost every conservative regular poster in this thread getting themselves banned. CL-1B, Blco2, Blco2 hiding as someone else on his alt(s?), Titanium Tea, ... All of them were banned for eventually letting out the racism, in CL-1B's case also nazi apologism. To Unicorn's credit, at least it wasn't racism yet again that got him..

Prior to you and InTheHallway joining the thread we just had a continuous long streak of conservative posters joining this thread only to sooner or later get perm banned for blatant racism.
Ninjahood was an outlier because while he crossed the line on racism repeatedly over a long time, he only ended up getting banned from this thread due to personal attacks.

I don't mind conservative posters, as long as they try to argue in good faith to at least some degree. I'd prefer more of them. Most regulars would, I assume.
I'll discuss/argue with anyone as I have said.
There's a difference between conservatives though and the kind of 'conservatives' this thread has seen previously. We'd have more still here if they could've stopped getting themselves banned.
There's only 2 conservatives left now with you and InTheHallway after UnicornHunter got himself a perm ban.

Expressing ideas and opinions through speech, text, and art freely. Expression of self (nudism, obscenity, etc) and ideology. I see that you have a line given that you agree with the court decision in that case.

I support MOST freedom of speech and expression. True freedom of speech and expression can be dangerous under certain circumstances.
