Also, creating a new government agency with a DOGE acronym is typical Elon 8 year old sense of humor. Literally the same thing as my friends and I typing 80085 on calculators in 3rd grade, except this is from a 50+ year old man. Embarrassing

Exact same thing I thought as soon as I saw it. That man wants so desperately to seem cool and funny, and he's just not. And no matter how hard he tries, he never will be.

This is also a gripe I had with the people who didn't vote for Dems because of Gaza. As much as the Biden administration fumbled the handling of the situation, this is the alternate reality that they face. A much more sinister, doom and gloom situation. I didn't understand the whole moral victory narrative of not voting to show the Dems up...now you have people in power who don't even recognize your people or land :{

I feel like I have been screaming this into the void for about 9 months. Not sure where your "moral victory" is when you're handing control to the person who's literally pledged to wipe out your people, but cool.

The name alone (Dept of Government Efficiency) is an attention grabber and when the Dems vote against it, Trump and his base will blame them for not wanted to “clean the swamp”. The spread of disinformation doesn’t stop just cause he was elected. Hold onto your butts, the next 4 years gonna be wild

Because people are stupid and constantly miss the forest for the trees.

Trump filled not one, not two, but THREE Supreme Court vacancies because people didn't vote for Hillary in 2016 and wanted to teach the Dems a lesson.

Some departments, agencies, programs, states, cities, counties, are more efficient than others, for all sorts of reasons

Their efficiency should be questioned and work done to attempt to improve them as much as possible

But much of the criticism that public institutions take is over things they're doing that can't be as efficient as private industry

Yes to missing the forest for the trees.

No to Arab voters being stupid. I wouldn't say that about them specifically because they have a personal gripe with the Biden administration due to their proximity to the conflict. I don't agree with their desire to abstain, but I understand.

My real issue is with Pro-Palestinian groups/individuals with no direct involvement in the conflict. They should have been much better at conveying the danger of not supporting Democrats in this election. Unfortunately, too many of them either didn't speak up or bought into the fantasy that abstention would yield positive results for their cause.

Any Trump supporters care to explain their thoughts on Republicans wanting to eliminate the Department of Education, which helps millions of lower income-middle class people attend universities, all while they themselves graduate from the most expensive schools and universities in the world?

The man who used to own a For-Profit university privatizing all federal lending programs #MAGA

I’m aware this is just due to me lacking inherent emotional empathy but I strongly disagree.
I don’t think there is any scenario where not choosing the less bad option isn’t enormously stupid.
If someone’s relatives were blown up in Gaza and they don’t push emotions aside to make the most rational decision, I would still view that as extremely stupid. If anything I’d view it as even more stupid than some regular person with a lesser or no direct interest in the conflict.

Understandable, sure. I imagine normal people struggle to strip all personal or emotional factors from a scenario and deduce it to a question of logic.

And so it begins the work of tearing down the 22nd amendment!

This one still cracks me up to no end. I remember those nutjobs screaming into the heavens that Obama was going to do this during his second term, with absolutely ZERO evidence that anyone had even thought it, let alone pitched it. As always, every accusation is actually an admission.

Don't they need 60 Senate votes to create an entirely new department? What Dems are going to vote for this? lol

The thing I read about it said that it would technically be outside of the government, as some kind of an external advisory board, which would also not require him to divest from any of his companies.
