Nobody IGNORED those issues. The thing is, NEITHER party has a solution. It’s dishonesty across the board. We will see what TRUMP does for those folks
Are you sure? If that message was really getting through, why are people still so focused on inflation and immigration? Let’s be real—many don’t want to hear, "I wouldn’t do anything differently" or "I didn’t make mistakes." They want bold, concrete actions like stronger stances on deportation. Both parties have historically recognized these issues, but this time it felt like the message was missing. You can say the concerns weren’t ignored, but the votes and those who chose not to show up suggest otherwise.

This is the 2016 elector map, same as today except Nevada was blue. Biden flipping Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan in 2020 really was a miracle

not a miracle, it was covid.

This 100%.

If only more people in here didn’t get in their extreme feels and butthurtness. Most of these posts are laughable while reading them. So extreme

Just live life one day at a time :hat
Rather ironic coming from me but that's a very privileged position, you do realize that yes?
As a financially successful white man, I'm not going to be bearing the burden of whatever horrible political decisions my country makes. Whatever impact will be negligible to myself personally.
Likewise, your statement suggests you are also in a similarly privileged position but what about those who are not?

On both the business end and socially, I've gotten to known a wide variety of Americans and I would consider some to be good friends. One of them for example is a woman whose state now has a total ban on abortion thanks to Trump's Supreme Court. It has already caused completely avoidable deaths because the ban prevented doctors from performing an abortion in lifethreatening circumstances.
See where I'm getting at? Politics is not some fun and games team sport with no or negligible impact on people's lives.

In the most simplistic form, this was the winning strategy

I think that resonated in non-rural areas as well. A lot of regular, day to day folks are tired of seeing "Blank checks" being sent over there when we have our fair share of issues here.

Anyone that refuses to see how that COULD be a major point is choosing to not see it.

Regardless of how uneducated you might feel those people are that view it in that matter, it's still an issue for them.

While Trump core constituency is a mixed bag of economic status with a mix of economic winners and loser.

They are almost universally social losers and they know it, at least his younger supporters are acutely aware of that fact.

The saddest or scariest thing of all is that these younger MAGAs thought that electing Trump would somehow solve this social and cultural and sexual/romantic deficiency.

It’s wild on Twitter, so many young MAGAs are begging many of the same people, whom MAGAs were threatening to murder and/or enslave a few days ago, to more or less take them seriously and quite honestly to be their friend or lover.

Obviously, many are taking their queues from Musk.

These dudes really think that being an out and proud MAGA would make themselves MORE attractive to young women. Delusion and sad.

You know that big beautiful wall that Mexico was supposed pay for that NEVER happened?

Or the bipartisan border security bill that was agreed desk that he killed on the floor?

Like people really are just DUMB as rocks. Like he had 4 years before to secure the border, why didn't one pundit just ask why didn't he do it?

And why are people convinced he'll do it this time?

It’s surprising to see so many pointing fingers at Latinos, straight men, and others, blaming them for the outcome. There’s constant talk about Kamala addressing the real issues, but look at who actually turned out to vote. Instead of blaming certain groups, why not focus on the fact that 15 million previous Democratic voters didn’t even show up? This election should have been an even bigger win for Democrats than 2020 if the support was there.

Continuing to poke fun and label people won’t solve anything. Clearly, something went wrong in either the party, the campaign strategy, or both. There’s no way Americans were so outraged at Trump that they rallied to vote him out, only to lose interest and stay home the next time around.

Very salient and uncontroversial stuff being said given what we've learned but I believe it'll fall on deaf ears because of the messenger.

Dems have left themselves extremely vulnerable to populist energy on the other side and voter apathy for years within what should a mainstay of their natural base, the working class.

Now that it's been tapped into by the other side with smashing success, you can't bottle it up and new solutions need to be tried to tap into that yourself. Doubling down on failed strategies hasn't worked

The brand of the Democratic party is so bad right now....

you can dismiss this as my hobby horse if you want.
ill admit, it is my hobby horse,

education polarization, in group elite speech politics are killing the democratic party everywhere other than rich suburbs.

there will be a backlash against Trump, but going forward HAS to be addressed.

I work with some highly educated, liberal, and wealthy individuals in the Bay Area and they were having none of Bernie Sanders in the previous elections. They think the Squad, AOC, and Bernie are radicals.

They love Hillary and Obama though.
