Makes sense, not all classified material is particularly sensitive.
But, as you imply, seems like there may have been some more highly (code word?) classified docs in the mix which would be more likely to be of interest to foreign agents then, say, annual performance reviews for the admin corp.
My point was counterintel’s presence makes it more likely that there are potentially national secrets that we don’t want other spy’s getting ahold of as opposed to just having NatSec.
Although another way of reading it might be that they brought in as many senior people as they could to distribute any blowback

I think it's probably 50/50 of both. Even in the case of fairly routine classified documents, the apparent unsecured storaging of them and the loads of people who could have accessed them would be a high importance to Counterintel either way. But the reported extremely high classification of some documents would be of great alarm to both the NatSec and Counterintel divisions.
Since both divisions have high stakes in this, I think it's to be expected that someone that high up would sign off on that motion.

Amen! I can't even afford to fill up the diesel tank on my RAM3500 MAGA Edition without asking Chik Fil A to remove the tomatoes from my daily #2 deluxe with extra large Dr Pepper. First high gas costs, then higher Folgers Classic Roast costs, what's next? I can barely afford my weekly $250 donation to get Trump re elected.
