OFFICIAL NHL PLAYOFFS THREAD.... BLACKHAWKS WIN STANLEY CUP

that said, with THAT much talent, i'm still shocked they're done in the first round.

yeah man....it sucks.  To me, it seemed like Boudreu's adjustments were nothing more than shuffling lines.  3% on the PP destroyed the chances for the Caps.  Just think about it.  If they (Caps) scored 3 PP goals in the series, it's over in 6....players need to take some of the blame for not executing, but also where's the coaching to make adjustments to what Montreal was doing?  They were collapsing in front of the net and putting 3 guys on the blueline when the Caps tried to make a rush into the offensive zone....it didn't look like the necessary changes were made by the coaches to counter what Montreal was doing.

That game was simply bananas. You couldn't pay me to believe the Habs were going to eliminate the Capitals when the series started. Now I am wondering how they will approach Pittsburgh in the next round. It sucks the Devils are out of it because though I love watching the playoffs, it's not the same when you're team isn't in it.

I still think NJ would have had the best shot to take out Pittsburgh in a best of seven.

and that is why this season is pretty much over ... the caps owned the pens and the only other team who had a chance in 7 games would have been NJ ... and to think, at the deadline i thought they would be the only thing keeping the cup out of washington's hands ... smh

Man, now I feel even worse about NJ being out

OT: Wow, I didn't have any idea Bouwmeester was thought of so negatively on here. What exactly makes him overrated? Yeah, he put up bad stats on a horribly constructed Flames team that couldn't score goals to save their lives. That doesn't change the fact that he is a good skater and exceptional at playing defense. I know if I was George Mchpee I would be on the phone ASAP, with Calgary, offering something based on Green and Semin for Bouwmeester and Kipper.

BTW I pray to god we don't have to witness PIT and DET again.

i'm actually pulling for detroit ... i dont see anyone left that could possibly beat the pens ... yes, i dont want the penguins to win ... sick and tired of pittsburgh in every sport ...

Green and Semin for Jay B and Kipper is a yes for Washington.

Jay has always been on bad teams and never scored much. But he was supposed to go in there and be w/Phaneuf and be the stoppers a la Prongs/Neidermayer in Anaheim a couple years ago. Jay showed horrible ice vision this year even worse than the last few years in Florida. He makes horrible passes and decisions when coming back on defense and he picks the worst times to push the offensive play and come in from the blue line. And he never looks confident out there. I've always thought he needed an older guy like a Rob Blake or Darryl Sydor to help him with his game. Just to give him tips.

Rooting for SJ actually. I've always like Thornton and Marleau and would love for them just to break through and get that monkey off their backs.

Money I'm guessing you are not a baseball fan, you don't ever have to worry about seeing Pitt at all with that sport

Isn't it obvious that's where it's headed? I mean unless Montreal pulls another upset.

Well, that's why I am praying.

I think the only realistic monkey wrench to PIT/DET is Chicago. I don't see any way PIT loses to an eastern team.

This has to be the year Chicago gets over the Detroit hump.

PIT/CHI Finals would be favorable.

I would love a Pitt Chi final, good for me and I think better for hockey than Det Pitt again

if pens are in the finals again.........
Spoiler [+]
 im done.
