**Official Kendrick Lamar Thread 4th Studio Album ''DAMN.''Out Now**

Yo this is the exact same way i found out about him. No joke. I had heard his name float around for a while, but the first song I heard was Monster, and was like what's wrong with dudes voice? But then I heard HiiPower and became a fan instantly. I didn't listen to Section 80 until after GKMC for some reason though.

I became a fan after listening to the heart pt 2. Then I went back and got the kendrick lamar lp.

I can't wait to see him in concert again, not too many artist can create energy like he can.

Ha, the first thing I heard from Kendrick was Monster too. Actually, if I remember correctly it was thread started by @Seymore CAKE  right here in the Music forum something like 3-4 years ago. Looked him up, found OD, and been a fan ever since

Really hoping this album lives up to the hype. I'm not even trying to get excited for the J.Cole collab. Been waiting like 2 years now; best to not expect anything and end up surprised later.

I honestly never heard Kendrick over Monster.

I found about him via NT because someone in the Cole thread was talking about how Cole produced Hiii Power for K. Dot. I listened to that track and was instantly impressed with his lyricism. I then listened to Section 80 and went back through his older work and have been a fan ever since.

Heard "Michael Jordan" and thought dude was pure garbage, months later I heard him over "So Appalled" and the rest is history.

lol at these discovering kendrick stories.

I heard about him right before O.D. dropped. Someone on 2dbz kept saying "man this dude WAY better than Cole" I was a former cole stan at the time, and **** who wasnt when warm up/ come up/ dropped?

So i downloaded O.D. and was blown away with Heart Part 2.

Went back to K.L. LP and was like "he was THIS good before this??

Been a fan ever since. My favorite rapper.

Damn... the progression as a artist in such a short amount of time. That's amazing.

And the lyrics someone on KTT typed out.

[Verse]

What did the Asian say?
A piece of mind
That's what the Asian said, I needed divine
Intervention was his religion and I was surprised
Him believin' in Buddha, me believin' in God
What am I doin'? He said, "takin' my time"
Meditation is a must, it don't hurt if you try
You're thinking' too much, plus you're too full of yourself
Worried 'bout your career, ever think of your health?
(What did the Indian say?)
A piece of land
That's what the Indian said I need the man
Telling me longevity's in the dirt
Buy some property first
Profit a better dollar with generational perks
Equity at it's best, really you should invest
These tangible things expire, don't you expect
Income with so much outcome and yes
Look at my heritage, we blessed
(Now what the black man say)
A piece to look at
That's what the black man say I needed to push man, to the limit
Satisfy my hunger, do it all for a woman
Head cut to a [?], we like to live in the jungle
Like to play in the beach, what you sayin' to me?
He said homie come back to reality for a week
[?] is power, cut on the [?] every night
I wouldn't be problem, you should allow it

(What the white man say?)
A piece of minds
That's what the white man wanted when I rhyme
Tellin' me sellin' me for just ten ninety-nine
I go platinum from rappin' I do the company fine
What if I compromise? He said it don't even matter
Make a million or more, you livin' better than average
Your losin' your core following, gainin' it all
Put a price on my talent, I hit the back and withdraw
Hit the bank and withdraw, hit the bank and withdraw
Put myself in a rocket ship and I shot for the stars
Tell me what you're accomplishing, where you're setting the bar?
I'ma make you these promises that you just can't ignore
The profession anonymous as an artist, I don't talk at your [?]
You are signing your signature when I throw you my wallet
Lot of rappers are [?] their demo all in the toilet
World tour [?] and I need ya
Terrance Martin

[Terrace Martin saxaphone interlude]

[Hook] x4
I holler, "What you do? What you say?"
I shall enjoy the fruits of my labor if I get free today

[Outro]
What the black man say?
Tell 'em we don't die, tell 'em we don't die
Tell 'em we don't die, we multiply
Tell 'em we don't die, tell 'em we don't die
Tell 'em we don't die, we multiply
Tell 'em we don't die, tell 'em we don't die
Tell 'em we don't die, we multiply
Tell 'em we don't die, tell 'em we don't die
Tell 'em we don't die, we multiply

This album seems as if it will definitely have a different vibe to it. I wonder how all of his recent fans will feel about this.

Wow what a performance by K. Dot. I really am feeling the sound of that track, the lyricis, the content and structure of the song are dope! Even more hyped for this album!

Man I love the direction he's going. His true fans will understand and this will only bring new fans on ship.

Heard "Michael Jordan" and thought dude was pure garbage, months later I heard him over "So Appalled" and the rest is history.

Bruh....my ex was tryna to hype him up way back when and I was like wait "the dude who made 'Michael Jordan'? Hell nah, he wack as ****"

Fast forward and I rock with his music now. Still think is voice is annoying tho, but I respect what he's doing for hip-hop.

Yea, this album will probably sound like a Kendrick & The Roots collaboration.

I think he'll speak much about, history, religion, african americans, violence, peace and etc.
Something you wouldn't expect from a top rapper
