OFFICIAL HOCKEY THREAD: NHL, KHL, NCAA, IIHL

The novelty of Charles Barkley as a studio analyst on hockey wore off after about 2 minutes
ESPN is terrible. I dunno how you guys watch that garbage broadcast. The amount of times these guys harp on dudes being Russian is wild annoying too.

"Nichuskin, the Russian forward" 🙄 man shut up

Auston looked like he was about to hit a 70's disco when he accepted the Hart lol

Cirelli injury would be game changer. hopefully not bad and he can come back

Great game so far. Rooting for Tampa to tie this up 2-2. 3-peat would be incredible.

That make up no-call tripping on Ryan McDonough was huge for Tampa...

they talking about the guy heading to the bench, 60 feet away from the puck?! lol

From a non-professional who doesn’t know the rules like the back of my hand….is that not 6 men on the ice? I’d like to think I know some of the finer nuances of the rules, but still trying to fully comprehend everything.

How did the guy closest to the bench get out to the middle of the ice by the time the guy subbing out reached the boards? I’ve seen that same situation called the other way several times.

From my understanding there's a "buffer" zone around the bench where guys coming in/coming off don't count towards the rule unless they play the puck or are in the play somehow. Like you're not gonna call too many men if a guy still has a skate on the ice when his replacement is skating in. What I've read so far it's like 5 feet around the boards, plus it's subjective based on the refs.

Your point about the guy coming in, people are saying that Kadri came onto the ice too early before Mack got off or close to the boards, I didn't catch that live. But if that's the case they should've called it a bit before the play developed. And I'm assuming here that Kadri came on and got in while Mack was skating off and the they were already switching out before anything happened the refs let it go? I dunno.

We were confused after the goal why only a handful of Avs players were celebrating and wtf was happening I assumed the refs saw something or it bounced in and out quick and there was gonna be a goal review:

the puck got stuck on the roof between the net and the bar :wow:

If it should've been a legit too many men on the ice call...my ex is from Tampa so GO AVS.

Just messy all around lol

Dont forget when Tampa had 7 guys on the ice against the Islanders

In the same photo frink85 frink85 shared in the tweet, there are 7 Tampa Bay players on the ice.

But because they don't have possession its fine?

Whether you are for or against, this is an issue easily remedied by the NHL reviewing scoring plays.

Jon Cooper has been puffing his chest out for 3 years (rightfully so) but the fact he is playing the victim card now is hilarious.

Well ya, isnt that the rule? If they touch the puck? Ive seen some bad line changes and the player was gonna play the puck but realized they had too many guys on the ice and then stopped til it was clear
