From my understanding there's a "buffer" zone around the bench where guys coming in/coming off don't count towards the rule unless they play the puck or are in the play somehow. Like you're not gonna call too many men if a guy still has a skate on the ice when his replacement is skating in. What I've read so far it's like 5 feet around the boards, plus it's subjective based on the refs.
Your point about the guy coming in, people are saying that Kadri came onto the ice too early before Mack got off or close to the boards, I didn't catch that live. But if that's the case they should've called it a bit before the play developed. And I'm assuming here that Kadri came on and got in while Mack was skating off and the they were already switching out before anything happened the refs let it go? I dunno.
We were confused after the goal why only a handful of Avs players were celebrating and wtf was happening I assumed the refs saw something or it bounced in and out quick and there was gonna be a goal review:
the puck got stuck on the roof between the net and the bar
If it should've been a legit too many men on the ice call...my ex is from Tampa so GO AVS.
