Even though I took major Ls on copping the Spideys st retail, I’m honestly glad I doubled up when resell was ~$220 only two months ago or so. Wish I tripled up now since the resell prices are going up insanely. In a few years these will probably have comparable resell to what 2015 Chis go for nowadays, when all is said and done.
yea its sad. I remember when Royals were like 220 a year ago and the shadows were like 230 just a couple months ago and now they are hovering around 300. Crazy.

Yea f this, i will have these soon. Slept hard as hell on these. :{

I'm also trying to figure this out. So far anything with FlyLeather has been listed as "flyleather" in the description. None of these J's people are talking about have that in the description. They all say synthetic/genuine leather. Feels like 1 person said it about a pair with the new crinkly stuff and a bunch of people just ran with it. If someone can show me an official Nike description of one of these that says it's made of FlyLeather, I'll gladly apologize and shut up lol.

It’s 100% NT detective speculation

making a lot of progress with my 1985 Chicago AJ1 restoration.

This pair will be getting a full treatment...

Calfskin Collar thats replacing the old, worn and cracked fabric collar
Calfskin Swooshes that're replacing the old vinyl swooshes
New Ankle padding thats replacing the old deteriorated foam
Complete new lining.

I'll be posting a final pic when these are done but if anyone is interested in watching the process, I included a link

Told y'all! :wow:

I've been wearing mine for about 3 days, no big issue on creasing like the "ONLY ONE" pic going viral. I just think that guy either got too big of a shoe or he's doing sprints or walking w/ his tippy toes.....lol.

Its a diff type of leather than we are used to, and I'm ok with it.

First thing I thought of when I saw these, was they leather reminded me of the premium Dunks from around 03-04...

You think half sizing down would help? I'm a 12, comfortably....but can definitely deal with an 11.5. Figured it could be beneficial if the leather was actually as awful as the one massive crease pic.

FWIW....I compared my Defiant's to my LV's (Line Up), SBB 1.0's, Blue Union, ROY's and recent Shadow's (ROY's and Shadow's being some of the BEST executions IMHO). My wife (a luxury brand junkie) noticed right off the bat that these had the appearance of a luxury brand sneaker and she's not into sneakers AT ALL! One thing I did notice is that my Defiant's were made in Vietnam where as all of the other 1's were made in China. For those that have had these in hand and have owned or held a YSL SL10 (I sold mine), I would say that the material used on the Defiant's is similar in initial feel to the touch as far as stiffness. Both LV and YSL use stiff leather and they're made in Italy. That being said, I have yet to feel an Italian made sneaker or any other luxury brand sneaker with leather like a ROY, Shadow, etc.... . Those of you that have been fortunate enough to experience luxury brands know what I'm talking about. If you haven't experienced luxury brands, I suggest that you take advantage of the opportunity when it presents itself. They say that the shoe was supposed to have a "couture" feel as well as inspiration from luxury automobiles. I can tell you for a fact that the leather in a Ferrari is NOT like ANYTHING you'll get in the most expensive Ford Mustang, Corvette or something along those lines. Hell, MB Tex is probably better than the top of the line domestic offerings. They are marketed to different groups of people that have different tastes, experiences and exposure. They are SUPPOSED to be different and unique. I said all of that to say this...OF COURSE JB isn't giving you Italian quality materials or attempting to do so at a price point of $175. Is the material worth the extra $15? That's debatable, it's about what they can legitimately sell to THEIR market. Is the shoe for everyone? NO, it doesn't appear to me (IMHO) that JB wanted the shoe to roll out like that. You didn't see the usual celebrities parading around with shoes before the release date pr hyping them up. It seems to me that maybe JB wanted to give us regular, hard-working folks, a shoe with a high end feel that we could still afford. You're not going to get an Italian luxury sneaker below $500 brand new. He offered a Jordan 1 that you could wear with luxury brand and still pull off the look as opposed to sporting a "basketball" sneaker. It's no different than PacSun selling their FOG collab clothing. FOG boutique clothing is for an entirely different market, it's not intended for the masses. Instead of JB attaching a celebrity and story to it, having a massive campaign and roll out like OW and FOG, they tried to do something for regular guys this time. That's just MY opinion, but hey, what do I know....sorry for the long post
Thanks for your time!

I honesty think the size 11.5 will be ok, I felt like I had more room in these than my normal Jordan 1’s not sure if it’s the type of material

Great, now explain the toebox crumpling on those Defiants.

Can I get some help? I recently bought a pie of “No Resale” Jordan 1’s and everything looks good to me. They’re my first Jordan’s so I’m not that acquainted with them. The product code on the box match the shoe product code and it matches the one that applies to the Shoe colorway. But my box says, “Red/Ivory-Black” instead of “Sailor/Black-Varsity Red”. I have seen other authenticed shoes say “Black/Red-White” but I don’t know if mine are good.
